Nestled on 3 acres this pretty cottage is a short drive to the Skipton Rail Trail, Lake Burrumbeet, Ballarat, and Mt.Cole National Park. The cottage has beautiful views and is cosy and comfortable inside. Relax by the fire or enjoy a barbecue on the verandah. Simply retreat to the quiet countryside or have adventures in Ballarat. The Cottage has been a place of Retreat for many years and is in a very peaceful setting, surrounded by gardens and bush. This area has been great for our family as it is a short commute to Ballarat with its beautiful Lake, gardens and tourist attractions. The cottage is a good base for touring the delights of the Goldfield region and Pyrenees Wineries and perfect also for quiet getaways. We offer simple country hospitality. The cottage is accessible by car and has its own private entrance We are available to help during your stay. Carngham is a small rural hamlet composed of Hobby farmers, horse lovers and sheep/cattle /crop farming. It is close enough to Ballarat ( a main regional town) and yet far enough away to be quiet and beautiful with its bush, rolling hills and peaceful country environment. The air is fresh and the water is pure. Wildlife abounds in Carngham with many bird species including kookaburras, parrots & wrens, plus there are kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and bush animals living naturally in the bush. Carngham Road is the main road off which are many smaller and often unsealed roads and country lanes. The little town of Snake Valley is nearby which has its own General Store /Post Office and Hotel where a country pub meal can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. As Carngham is away from city lights, on a clear night it is the perfect place to view the stars of the Southern Hemisphere. Carngham does not have any public transport. It is necessary to have your own car to get around.
