There is a sizeable guest lounge close to the bedroom, with views over the large peaceful garden, a big TV plus DVD player. Small library of DVDs or bring your own. The bedroom includes a comfy chair and USB points. Free access to wifi. Feel at home as soon as you arrive with a welcome cuppa and homemade cake. Take your time being served a delicious continental breakfast overlooking the garden or, weather permitting in the garden. Visitors from all over the globe stay for a break from busy lives, for work, plus to see friends and relatives. Plenty of free car parking on drive. As a small village it is best to have your own transport to enable exploration of the local area, made easy by easy access to the A3 (London to Portsmouth Road). Check out other listings, a similar larger KS room which overlooks the back garden, as well as a 2 bed with own kitchen self contained space sometimes available too. If you are part of a group, rent all 3 together. This is one of two next door bedrooms off a large hall. The other room is larger with views over the back garden and a dressing room. The guest lounge is across the hall. So if you are visiting the area with friends this is a good way to be together, and enjoy a bit of your own space at times. To explore the neighbourhood, the village is a short walk away, and to make the most of your stay it is best to have your own transport. Enjoy a tasty, freshly prepared breakfast in the large, light kitchen or breakfast rooms which overlook the south facing garden. Guests are also made welcome round the kitchen table to chat, while enjoying coffee and homemade cakes. A great way for sorting out plans. It includes Grayshott Pottery & coffee shop, National Trust walking, an array of small shops (butchers, florist,wine shop, fish & chip shop, couple of restaurants, post office, dry cleaners and corner shops). Applegarth Farmshop and restaurants are close by. As too are Haslemere and Liphook which both have stations. Grayshott has links with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Bernard Shaw as well as Flora Thompson. On the doorstep is walking to National Trust Waggoners Wells and Ludshott Common. A car is useful while staying here as it opens up so much more to explore. The popular NT Punchbowl is 5mins' drive away. There are several golf courses nearby like Hindhead, Liphook, Hankley Common and others. Frensham, with its Great and Little ponds are are short drive away on the way to Farnham. The market town of Farnham (about 20mins by car) has plenty of shops, Farnham Castle and a station. There is a regular street market. The castle is the ruins of a motte and keep castle founded in 1138 and home of Bishop Henry of Blois. 40mins further on is Highclere Castle, a must see for Downton Abbey fans. Other places a short car drive away include Watts Chapel, Chawton House {Jane Austen' Great House} on the way to Winchester, Ramster Gardens, Haslemere Educational Museum, Alice Holt Forest. The picturesque village of Tilford and home of Mirza Masroor Ahmad, plus the 208 acre site, named as 'Hadiqatul-Mahdi' and home of the annual Jalsa Salana are both about 15mins away. Beautiful Winchester is about 45mins away and home of Jane Austen's House Museum, the cottage where she lived and wrote. Driving south towards the coast is the pretty village of Selbourne with its Gilbert White & The Oates collections. Petersfield, Chichester, Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight (via ferry), Goodwood. Or in the opposite direction is the market town of Godalming and Winkworth Aboretum, Guildford and on to London via the A3. There are various vineyards including among others Hambledon to the south. Hambledon's rose wine was served by The Queen to Donald Trump. Greyfriars north, is the start of the Surrey Hills Wine Route and goes all the way to Denbies just before the M25. For a quintessentially English experience, visit High Clandon Vineyard, which is close to the RHS Wisley (23 miles from Grayshott), just before the M25. The village, National Trust commons are within walking distance. A car helps you explore. There is secure private off road parking. Stations nearby include Haslemere about 4miles, Liphook 3miles, Farnham 8miles. Haslemere arrives at Waterloo in London, about 50mins. Some of the stops on the Portsmouth to Waterloo line include Guildford, Woking, Clapham Junction and Petersfield. Sarah is a trained chef with Michelin star experience. She gives Thermomix, Aga and lots of other cooking demonstrations, breadmaking as well as knife skills classes plus wine tastings. There are interesting woodland walks from the back garden down to the famous National Trust lakes called Waggoners Wells. Also close by is the extremely popular Devil's Punch Bowl, with its own National Trust Cafe, the village includes the delightful Grayshott Potteries, and Applegarth's coffee shop, the local Fox & Pelican pub, Nepalese plus other small restaurants.
