Charming 3 bedroom bungalow in Downtown Carbondale

Originally built in 1920, this cute bungalow house has been totally renovated and modernized. You'll enjoy 3 furnished bedrooms, 1 bathroom, covered porch, and back with lighted pergola and firepit. The location is exceptional - just two blocks North of the Carbondale downtown "strip," and EASILY walkable to all the downtown businesses, Memorial Hospital of Carbondale (0.4 miles), restaurants, pubs, Carbondale Civic Center (0.4 miles), Amtrak station (0.5 miles), and SIU (about 1.2 miles). We are an officially licensed , zoned, and inspected Carbondale AirBNB unit: Carbondale License VRU 18-05. Thank you for checking out my house! Let me tell you what to expect when you arrive: The house features WiFi (5G speed), or you can plug directly into the router, and a Nest smart-thermostat and central AC/heater (I'll have the house at a comfortable temperature before your arrival). The front and back doors feature easy keyless entry, as well as new cedar screen doors for those nice Southern Illinois nights. The front porch features a small cafe style table, rocking glider, and fountain. The living room features a large comfortable modular couch that can be converted into a queen size bed or other configurations that suit your needs (it can sleep two easily). You'll also enjoy a 55" smart TV with Roku (you can enjoy Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Pandora, etc.) - I do not have Cable TV. A DVD player with an assortment of DVDs is provided. I have a cool record player and an assortment of mostly 1970s and 1980s records, a bookshelf with an assortment of books, an Amazon Echo Dot, and cool board and card games. You'll have an assortment of pillows and throws. There is also a new wireless/USB laser printer for your business purposes. Each of the three bedrooms features a comfortable 12" - 14" thick mattress with high quality sheets and mattress encasement, along with 6 pillows with a variety of firmness. Each bedroom has a 32" - 42" smart TV with Roku attachment. Each bedroom features a secretary desk and chair with desktop outlet and USB charging (no need to go hunting for an outlet), a bedside Echo Spot clock, and a touch bedside lamp. Each bedroom has lockable doors with two clearly labeled keys. You'll have plenty of closet (with wooden hangers) and dresser space for your belongings. In each bedroom, you'll find a basket with your towels and soaps/shampoos. The kitchen features a new gas stove, a refrigerator stocked with a variety of bottled water and sodas, freezer, Le Creuset cookware, Keurig coffee maker (hooked into a filtered water line) with coffee pods and creamer/sugar/milk, Ninja blender, retro egg beater, microwave, Amazon Echo device, and bench style eat-in kitchen. I will have various things like bagels, English muffins, and snacks available for you. The bathroom features a large newer bathtub that's great for showers or baths, hair dryer, and additional bath towels, cloths, and amenities. Enjoy long showers with forever hot water (with a tankless water heater). The mudroom features a new large capacity Samsung washer and dryer with steam wrinkle-rid feature, utility sink, countertop ice maker, and of course an iron and ironing board. We have detergent and softener for your use. The backyard features a new cedar lighted pergola, cafe style iron table with seating for four, and newly built firepit and patio with stone seating and camping chairs. I'll usually have wood available for you to enjoy a fire. You'll enjoy full private access to the entire house and yard. You will not share any of the house or amenities during your stay - they're all for your private enjoyment. I am not always in town (I also have a home in Atlanta, GA), so the house is set up to be self-service with flexible check-in. The house has front and backdoor keypads and security cameras - you'll receive a keycode to the doors shortly after booking. The same key code works for the front and back doors, and the security panel if you choose to use it. You'll have the entire house to yourself! The house has a good level of privacy, and I have friendly neighbors. You can easily walk to many restaurants and bars. The house is in quick walking distance to the downtown Carbondale "strip." You'll enjoy driveway and free unlimited street parking for your cars, and the house is about a 7 to 10 minute walk to the Amtrak station as well. I'll also have an adult sized kick-scooter available for your use, which is a lot of fun.
