Smedje is a stylish, modern, newly renovated, Scandinavian inspired, three bedroom semi-detached property, located in the small rural town of Kirriemuir. Each room has been carefully curated and designed, providing a high level of comfort for our guests. Nestled at the foot of the Angus glens, it's the perfect spot for those who love the outdoors, especially hillwalkers and is a 5 min car ride or 10 min walk to the town centre for amenities. Smedje is a 3 bedroom 1960's style semi-detached property, set within a quiet cul-de-sac in the quiet rural town of Kirriemuir. The house has recently undergone a complete renovation, modernised and very comfortable with a Scandinavian inspired interior. Entering into the wooden floored hall you will find the main bathroom to the left with shower, washbasin and WC and a single bedroom to the right, complete with barn style wardrobes and a chest of drawers. Scaffold board stairs in the hall lead up to two further bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities and a walk in wardrobe, the other with fitted wardrobes providing ample storage for all your clothes etc. Through the hall there is a large sitting room with HD T.V, a comfortable corner sofa and two armchairs. We also have a piano, feel free to play ! There are dark grey french doors leading out in to the garden area. Through the lounge there is a modern, fully fitted kitchen, with oven, hob, refrigerator (small ice box), dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a nespresso coffee machine and aerolatte which guests are very welcome to use. A further door leads out to the decked area, with raised garden beds a summer house and a garden shed. Please note that the summer house is not in use for the present time as it is undergoing some refurbishment. We ask that you take extra care whilst walking on the deck, to avoid any injury. In wet or icy conditions it can become very slippy and we cannot be held liable for any accidents that occur as a result of not taking extra care whilst walking on it. The garden fence has a gate cut into it which allows access out onto the back road, where you can explore the countryside and surrounding glens. As the property is situated within a cul-de-sac, unfortunately there is no off street parking but there are residential spaces which are allocated on a first come first serve basis. If arriving around 4pm you should be able to park near the property, however if it is busy there are usually spaces in the neighbouring cul-de-sac a one minute walk or alternatively on the road side leading up to the property. You can quickly park up for offloading your luggage as most of the residents are appreciative of the lack of parking spaces. My property manager Carolyn lives nearby and can be contacted for any queries or to help in any way. Her number is listed in the welcome folder within the property, but I shall also email this to you when confirming the booking. Smedje is set within a quiet, rural, residential area. It is within minutes of beautiful walks out into the countryside and the surrounding Angus glens. Local amenities in the town centre can be accessed by a 10 minute walk or a 5 minute drive in the car. The town has it's own 18 hole Golf Course which welcomes visitors all year round, weather permitting of course. Kirriemuir is within easy distance of surrounding towns including Forfar, (famous for it's Bridies) 10mins by car, Dundee (host to The Discovery Ship and the V&A ) 20 mins by car, Arbroath (famous for it's fish suppers), 30 mins by car and St Andrews, (Home of Golf ), 45 mins by car. Local coffee stops include The Wee Bear Cafe by Lintrathen and Peel Farm also Lintrathen. There are regular bus services from Kirriemuir to the surrounding areas and if you need a taxi these are in regular supply too.
