A unique Aussie experience - welcome to OASIS!
We are perfectly placed for you to visit Gold Coast beaches, Tamborine Mountain and Brisbane, without the need to pack up and move house. Come stay with us and make OASIS your base camp! We are one train stop from Dreamworld, Movie World, Wet N Wild, Spirit of the Outback, a mall and eVent cinema. Our house is a lovely 15 minute walk from Ormeau train station or we can provide transport if we are around. We are a 30 minute drive from the white-sand surf beaches, the city, and the mountains. Our double-brick home is in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood with easy access to the motorway and is just a pleasant 15-minute walk from the train station. Our property is a smoke-free zone. We have just over an acre of land with a tiny forest and a fledgling orchard. October is mulberry season and you can pick the berries from our tree. January and February will see mangoes ripening on our tree for you to enjoy. April is fejoas season. Shared bathroom - but there is just me and my daughter so it isn't too inconvenient. We have shampoos and soaps if you run out. A hair dryer and flat iron are available. We do have a clothes iron that you can use - I haven't used it for years but I think it is in the back of the pantry. :) If you need to wash your clothes you can use our washing machine and hang your clothes on the line. We don't have a clothes dryer but this is Queensland and things usually dry overnight! We would happily accept a donation for our cat rescue organisation for the use of the machine. You can use the main lounge to read, listen to music, watch television, play a game of chess, cards or backgammon, or get active on the Wii Fit. You can dine on the patio by the pool and toast marshmallows over the fire pit, which also doubles as a BBQ. We even have the fixings for s'mores! I will set up breakfast for you each morning. Let us know if you have a favourite cereal and we will try to have it for you. Removed from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane city and the Gold Coast, Pimpama has some lovely homes each on an acre or so, where wallabies graze on the grass verge, kookaburras laugh, crows caw and families of soldier birds alert us to snakes and other intruders. There is lots of common wooded land throughout the estate for walkers - you may see kookaburras, cockatoos and lizards. You can reach Australian Outback Spectacular and theme parks - Dreamworld, Movie World and Wet N Wild - in 20 minutes by train and a connecting bus. If you are coming by car we are just a few minutes off the M1 at exit 45, and we have off-street parking for you. The Brisbane Airtrain will bring you from the airport to Ormeau train station in one hour and 23 minutes and we can pick you up from the station if we are around. The Ormeau train station, connecting you with Brisbane and the Gold Coast, is just a pleasant 15 minute walk through native trails - look out for the kangaroos at the train station! We often have unwanted cats and kittens in the house so those with allergies to cats may be more comfortable in another home. If you love cats there may well be kittens for you to cuddle! You will have access to shared space in our home, our local knowledge, puppy cuddles and your choice of one of six cats to have curled up on your lap! The kitchen and dining nook is our domain, as we don't have an industrial kitchen that is required in order for you to do your own cooking. We are happy to make you tea or coffee and there is a fire pit/bbq available for your use. There are a number of lovely eateries nearby and the local pub provides a free pick-up and drop-off service in a mini-van. The pool is available for guests to use all year round. It is heated naturally from the sun, and there is no 10pm curfew! We invite you to share our home and be part of our lives during your stay. We will include you in as many activities as you choose. We have a colony of rescued cats that will make you feel welcome and a beautiful chocolate Labrador Retriever that will bring a smile to your day. Interaction with us: you choose - just let us know. - we can include you in things that we do and help you plan your day - or provide you brochures on things to do in the area and let you work it out for yourself - or feel free to just sleep, wolf down your breakfast and take off to do your own thing. We are happy to provide you with tips and advice on things to do in the area. If we are not busy we can take you out and about - perhaps to a local nursery where you can have a free close encounter with native birds, and lots of other free things. We can chat to you if you like company and we would love to hear about your home country and your travels. We can teach you to use a spinning wheel, play a tune on the piano, viola or guitar, or share a favourite Australian meal. Every home in the estate of Canowindra has about an acre and a quarter of land. Tall trees, open spaces, walking trails through the woods, wallabies and kookaburras - these are some of my favourite things about our neighbourhood. A bus at the end of the street will take you to the train station if you don't wish to walk the pleasant 15 minutes through the delightful wooded track. Our place is ideally situated if you have a car and want to visit the Gold Coast, the mountains and Brisbane without changing your accommodation. We have a bicycle for you to borrow to ride around the lake at Coomera or the length of the beautiful white-sand beaches of the coast.
