AfriCamps at Ingwe, Plettenberg Bay (hot tubs)

AfriCamps bang in the middle of the uber-popular Garden Route. AfriCamps at Ingwe is situated in the Crags, a lush forest, and Fynbos area embraced by the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay where you can experience all the Garden Route is so famous for. Our high elevated tents boast outstanding views of rolling green hilltops surrounded by forested valleys and the Tsitsikamma Mountain Range. AfriCamps tents are proudly produced and handcrafted in South Africa, providing an attractive accommodation option to those who like the freedom of the great outdoors. Three of our six tents each have an outdoor wood-fired hot tub, subject to availability. With all the comfort of a permanent structure – proper furniture, bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and a solid wooden floor – they still preserve the romance and atmosphere of staying in a tent. AfriCamps tents consist of a spacious open-plan lounge area with a comfortable couch and a fully equipped kitchen. The dining room area has a solid wooden table with enough seating for five people. For winter months the fireplace will be the perfect way to warm up the tent, bringing in an intimate setting for you and your loved ones. Both bedrooms are furnished with an extra-length queen-size bed and have their own private entrance which allows maximum privacy. One of the bedrooms also contains an extra single bunk bed, so the tent will comfortably sleep a family of five. Our tents are equipped with an air conditioning unit to keep you cool during those hot summer nights and a private bathroom with a hot shower cabin, washbasin, and flushing toilet. The private wooden deck at the front of the tent comes with comfortable wooden loungers from where you can overlook the peaceful natural surroundings of a working farm or beautiful estate. When days get warmer you can pull up the front covers and transform the tent into a big outdoor living area. Here you can unwind and appreciate a festive family breakfast while enjoying the beautiful weather and taking in the serene natural beauty of the South African landscape. Check-in between 14:00 and 17:00. Special arrangements need to be made if your check-in is outside of these hours as access can be difficult, Please note that you need to call the host at the camp 30 mins prior to arrival at the farm. The host number is in your booking confirmation that will be sent to you after your booking is made. AfriCamps at Ingwe is an outdoor adventurer and nature lover’s paradise offering a variety of activities. Situated between the vibey holiday town of Plettenberg Bay (10 minutes’ drive away) and the quaint village of Natures Valley; AfriCamps finds itself in the centre of the Garden Route. This area is well known for its outstanding natural beauty with mind-blowing beaches and ancient forests. With Knysna and Tsitsikamma National Park both within a 30 minutes drive, AfriCamps at Ingwe is the perfect destination to experience it all. From Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, Jukani Wildlife centre, Hog Hollow Horse Trails, Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve, delightful canoeing trips up the Bitou & Keurbooms River to a visit to one of the many wine estates around the corner, one is spoilt for choice! Our boutique glamping camp can easily be reached from Cape Town or Port Elizabeth. From Cape Town Drive on the N2 past Knysna for about 30 minutes towards Plettenberg Bay, past Keurboomstrand. You will see AfriCamps at Ingwe signposts on the right. From Port Elizabeth Drive south-west along the N2 past Tsitsikamma National Park. Head on the N2 for about 30 minutes towards the Bloukrans Bridge. Part of the road is a toll road, therefore ensure you have money with you. Continue for another 15 minutes past Nature’s Valley and the Monkeyland turnoff and you’ll see AfriCamps at Ingwe on your left. Visit one of the many popular attractions in the area, or just sit on the private deck of your tent and soak up the tranquil beauty and peaceful sounds of Ingwe’s forest.
