Enjoy this cozy 2nd floor guest suite for 2 in a 200 year old farmhouse! The space is a 3 room guest suite, with your own private entrance, full bath, bedroom and living room. This listing is NOT for the entire house. Our family lives in the main part of the house. Enjoy petting our goats and watching our chickens run around the farm. An abundance of various birds, deer, and foxes roam the farm and surrounding area. Spend the evening by the fire pit so you can appreciate the quiet & stars. Welcome to our 20 acre hobby farm. The house was built in 1833 and we are in the process of renovating the entire property, keeping as many of the original pieces as we can and preserving the historical atmosphere. The back part of the house has been converted to a separate 2nd floor apartment, with a private balcony and entrance. There is a bathroom, bedroom and living room with small eating area. A bar with microwave, keurig and small refrigerator is provided. Plastic cutlery, mugs, paper plates and a variety of coffee and tea are also provided. Our family of 5 lives in the main part of the farmhouse but we will give you as much privacy as you wish. If you wish to meet us, please let us know before you arrive. We raise goats, chickens, steers and pigs. Depending on when you stay with us, we may not have pigs or steers, depending on the cycle of raising them/butchering (often in the winter, since we usually butcher in the fall). The goats are super friendly and love attention! If you would like to collect eggs please let us know and we can arrange it. We sell our beef, pork and eggs. The entire farm is available for you to explore, except for the barn and coop. An above ground pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, as well as a hot tub (open year round), shared by our family of 5. A small private campfire area is yours to enjoy with a view across the valley. We are surrounded by farms, many of them are Amish, which provides spectacular views. A 3 mile walk “around the block” brings you past an Amish schoolhouse, greenhouse and great views of the surrounding farmland. The pool, grill and farm is available for you to use. Please do not enter the barn or any other buildings without permission. Do not enter the campsite space or tent. This is reserved for our camping guests. We can be as available as needed! We both work off the farm but are available via text or phone call if you have any questions or concerns. If you need any recommendations, let us know! We are surrounded by Amish farmers, and enjoy the quiet and amazing views. Although we are rural, we are only 5-10 minutes from various restaurants, grocery stores, Spooky Nook and Park City Mall. Nearby attractions: Spooky Nook 5 minutes Lancaster city 15 minutes Amish attractions 20-30 minutes Sight & Sound 35 minutes Hershey Park 40 minutes Philadelphia 1.5 hours DC 2.5 hours NYC 3 hours. You will need a car to get here. Our road is part of a fantastic 3 mile walking route that has amazing views and passes by an Amish greenhouse and schoolhouse. We have various animals, and sometimes you’ll hear crowing, baa-baahing and mooing. We are surrounded by working farms, so you may hear farm equipment and experience farm smells, depending on the time of year. The farm is shared by our family of 5, as well as a camping site on the back edge of our property. If you have a larger group, you are welcome to look at our glamping listing.
