Walkthrough: Secret Garden's kitchen has a dining area, and is adjacent to the living room by way of an entry area. Off the kitchen, there's a half bath. Above the kitchen, there's a TV loft, reached by interior ladder as well as by an exterior staircase. Off the living room, there's one small bedroom and a full bath. Stairs from the living room lead up to a bedroom with its own small deck (no door on staircase). The dining area and living room open to a wrap-around deck with outdoor dining and hot tub. House is approximately 1300sf. *Please note: -Seasonal Firepit is not in use during fire season (when the rain stops in spring until the rain starts in winter). -Depending on the time of year, there may be a seasonal creek running through the property. -Both interior ladder and exterior stairs to loft are steep. Most homes in the Russian River area are located in rural neighborhoods, home to a colorful, eclectic population of both full-time and vacation home residents. There are neighbors, but they're usually not too close, and you can expect the kinds of activities typical of any neighborhood. There are a range of dwelling types, and you might rub elbows with a 5th generation River resident, a Silicon Valley scion, and a Generation of Love retiree on the same block. The Russian River is a vacation destination year round, and most homes are built on roads running parallel to the River or Creek with mountains close on both sides, so there are varying degrees of noise from the roads, the River, residents and other visitors. Many roads are narrow (some may even wend and wind a bit), without much street lighting, so it's best to arrive in the daylight, if possible, and please download and use our directions. GPS, online mapping and cell service are not reliable in this area. If you have any questions about the general access to or neighborhood surrounding this home, please contact us. Public transportation is limited in this area, and you will need a car to get to the house and to visit nearby sites. The closest airport is in Santa Rosa (30-45 minutes), next is San Francisco (2-2.5 hours), then Sacramento (2.5-3 hours). Uber & Lyft are available, both along the Russian River and for hopping between wineries, but our rural wait times may be a bit longer than usual urban wait times. We also have two taxi service companies available locally, Bill's Taxi and Monte Rio Taxi. There are also many wonderful areas and wineries to see using wine tours and driver services; our guests have enjoyed riding with Platinum Vine Tours, Terrific Tours, Pure Luxury, and Bill's Taxi(!). Fire Season & Drought Conditions 2022 - How You Can Help Help Smokey Out in Fire Season (generally when the rain stops in late spring/early summer until we have significant rain in late fall/early winter): -No use of the wood-burning firepit amenity on property during fire season. -No campfires/personal wood-burning firepits on property or river/creek beaches any time of year. Save Water Any Which Way You Can: Drought conditions will continue for the foreseeable future. -Please conserve water in daily use: Take shorter showers, turn off the tap, run a full dishwasher (if your home has one, check listing), launder sparingly & use washing machine load size control. -Follow hot tub rules closely to avoid unnecessarily high water use for cleaning. Getaway Clean & Safe - Keeping Our Community Safe Social Distancing & Facial Coverings: When you are out and about, have a totally awesome time, but also observe current Sonoma County and California covid rules (check their websites). Abundance of Caution Cleaning: Your home will be professionally cleaned by a Russian River Getaways staff housekeeper, using CDC-recommended covid-19 protocols. Your housekeeper is our employee, who, thanks to visitors like you, is able to live and work in the Russian River area. Thank you for supporting local jobs! Maintenance/Service Calls: For the duration of the pandemic, we will only service urgent indoor house issues during guest stays. When a technician needs to visit the house, we will ask that you vacate the house, or if not possible, the room where the work is taking place. If you are in the house, we will also ask that you mask and physically distance from the technician. SIP Happens (and so does evacuation)...If a health or evacuation order is enacted affecting our ability to host you, we will cancel your reservation with as much notice as possible. Airbnb generally offers both host and guest cancellation options for full refund when there are official orders prohibiting travel to a destination. In all other cases, the cancellation policy applicable to your reservation will remain firm. Live Like a (Website hidden by Airbnb) a Good Neighbor* GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICIES: -Quiet hours are 10pm-7am (neighbors should not hear you during that time). -No outdoor amplified sound/music (outdoor speakers) at any time. -No guests or cars in excess of the maximum occupancy and cars noted in house listing. -No weddings, parties, events, or loud gatherings of any kind. -No temporary structures (including tents) or RV’s. -No unsecured dogs or nuisance barking. Dogs left alone will be crated indoors. -No firepit use during fire season, firepits will be extinguished when unattended and after 10pm. State/local fire bans will be observed. Check-In and Check-Out GO DIRECT TO THE HOUSE! We will message you within a week of your arrival with code to enter house, special directions for finding the house, and instructions for getting into the house. It's best to save to your phone, as cell network connections can be spotty in this area. Please try to arrive to our rural area in daylight. • Check-in time is 3pm. Your access code will not work before 3pm. • Check-out is 11am. Your access code will stop working at 11am. Things you'll find at the house (and some you won't)... Any amenity not on this list (listed in the house description) is subject to change without notice. We try to keep everything up to date, but if that additional amenity is very important to you, please ask about it. • Bed: One set of bed linens per bed. Bed will be made up with fresh linens for your arrival. • Bath: One set of bath towels per person (a set is one bath towel, one hand towel and one wash cloth)...just like a hotel. Initial supply of toilet paper (2+ rolls per bathroom), hair dryer, liquid hand soap, bodywash/shampoo combo. • Please bring your own toiletries (including bar soap and your favorite shampoo), spa/beach towels. TIP: If you find any of these items at the house, you are welcome to use them, but they are not routinely provided. You can also purchase locally at Safeway or one of the local markets. • Kitchen: Stove, refrigerator, blender, microwave, coffee-maker & grinder, toaster, complete cookware, dishes, glassware, flatware, dishwashing and liquid hand soap, dishwasher detergent (if the house has a dishwasher*), one roll of paper towels, dish towel, sponge, trash bags. TIP: Use only provided dishwasher detergent in dishwasher. Never use regular dish detergent in the dishwasher. *Check amenities to confirm whether your home has a dishwasher. TIP: We do not routinely stock basic cooking ingredients such as salt, pepper or oil, or coffee, but if you find them at the house, enjoy! • Laundry: Washer & dryer. We provide laundry detergent, but not dryer sheets. Keep loads to 2/3 max. • Gas grill or charcoal barbecue: Propane is provided for gas grills; charcoal, lighter fluid, etc. are not, but can be purchased locally. Check amenities for type of grill. • Entertainment: Cable, satellite or streaming service, DVD, Wi-Fi, music player. Pay-per-view/on-demand is not included in your reservation. Lost and Found... If you leave something at the house, we will try to help you get your lost items back, so message us ASAP. There is a $50 flat fee for retrieving and shipping lost items.
