Healing Mountain Retreat @ Finca Remedio Eco Farm

Finca Remedio is a 40 acre Eco Farm and community space in the mountains of Utuado. Come bask in a pristine tropical forest, breathing pure air, bathing in spring water, listening to the evening orchestra of wildlife and gentle waterfalls. Our farm is an off-grid outdoor living experience and the perfect environment for relaxation, connection, and healing. We provide the basics for you to be comfortable as you immerse yourself in nature. You can check out our project on FB and IG @Fincaremedio You will be sleeping on a deck above a creek, surrounded by trees. The space is open, simple and clean. There is a queen bed, bedside tables, solar lights, hammock, table and chairs, yoga mats, sink, outdooor hot shower with pure spring water and a compost toilet (closed system using sawdust instead of water). There is no electricity on this deck only solar lighting, phone charger and a headlamp The sleeping area is very private, you wont hear any cars or see lights. A 3 minute walk from this deck is the kitchen deck. This deck has all the basics for cooking, 2 burner stove, mini fridge, sink, storage space, cooking utensils, Berkey water filter (please don't bring water bottles we have excellent water here), dining area, sofa, compost toilet. This deck has solar power for phone charging, music, wifi, yoga mats, instruments. This deck is above our home so it is less private, though we do not use it to cook. Ocassionally we may have visitors also using this deck also, we will try to let you know first. Our adobe home is below with the garden, we can give mini tours of our SuperAdobe earth home. We also can sell organic fruits, veggies, eggs etc. and offer farm meals with advance notice for $15 per person per meal. This is a food forest and you will be surrounded by fruit trees. We have a mile of hiking paths if you enjoy hiking around the farm. We also have two creeks and a river. On the walk between the kitchen and the sleeping deck you have to cross the creek so wear shoes that can get wet. We have an amazing river on the bottom of the farm with 2 epic swimming holes and waterfalls. River access is a challenging 10 minute hike down a steep slope, so only for agile hikers. We can provide a tour for $30 to those who would like guidance. We are 420 friendly. Our farm is off grid and off road, you will park outside the farm, from there it is a 4 minute walk to the kitchen and 3 minutes more to the sleeping deck. It is essential that you are comfortable walking and living outside on uneven terrain. Finca Remedio is a functioning farm, you will see projects in process and things that need to be done, do not expect luxury. AirBnB is a way to financially support our farm. We appreciate you! We have 4 dogs, 2 cats and chickens. We will meet you outside the farm to introduce you to our dogs. Our dogs are very loving and safe, but they are guard dogs and do bark. If you are afraid of dogs this is not the space for you. Dog lovers only! Our dogs do not like new dogs, no pets allowed. We have a big camping tent with beds inside for extra guests, $15 per person per night. We live in a quiet rural community, we have no close by neighbors. The last half mile to the farm is going up a steep slope. You do not need 4WD. You will park outside the farm. We will meet you outside the farm to introduce you to the dogs and help transport your things. Please do NOT enter the farm without us. The sleeping deck is very private in its own area on the other side of the creek. We will meet you at the entrance when you arrive, introduce you to the dogs and show you the kitchen deck and sleeping deck and explain how things work. After that we won't go to the sleeping deck unless you need help with something. You can text message us in case you need any further help. We are 15 minutes from the mountain town of Utuado in the neighborhood Puente Blanco. It's a peaceful rural neighborhood hugged by mountains with the beautiful Rio Pellejas flowing through. We are 50 minutos from Ponce and 40 minutes from the beaches of Arecibo/Hatillo, 30 minutes from the Taino Ceremonial Park Caguana, and the Tanama tours of Caguana, 25 minutes from Cueva Ventana, 30 minutes from Cañon Blanco. Our farm is an off grid, off road nature immersion. You can Park at the entrance of our farm, we will meet you there with our car to help you transport your things. From the parking to the kitchen is a 4 minute walk and from the kitchen to the sleeping deck 3 more minutes. From our farm to town is less than a 15 minute drive. Staying on our farm does require ease of mobility and comfort in natural settings for example with rain, ants, spiders, lizards, darkness, uneven terrain, slopes, stinging nettle etc. With all this said as a precaution for people that are not comfortable in the outdoors, this tropical rain forest is a very gentle and pleasing. We can receive families. We have a large tent with beds 1 minute from the sleeping deck where older children can sleep for $15 a night per person. It is important to warn that we live in the mountains, there are steep slopes along paths and the decks are lifted 3 and a half feet off the ground. It is easy for small children to fall off. Please be aware of the extra care and education needed to stay here with small children. With that said. it is an incredible opportunity for children to experience the magic of Nature in a comfortable setting.
