One bedroom has a queen bed on the 2nd floor, the 2nd floor loft has a double bed. There is a bathroom with a soaking tub on the 2nd floor. Shared bathroom on the main floor has a tub/shower. Share the living/dining room, kitchen, deck & grounds with the host who lives in the main house. Wi-fi and mobile phones work here! Dining conference table 5' opens to 5' x 10' for dining or meetings. There is an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and curling iron. There is a wrap around deck with lots of tables and chairs. There is a gazebo with comfortable cushioned seating in a big organic vegetable, herb and flower garden. Because your health and ours is of utmost importance, we disinfect everything throughout the house: drawer/door knobs, all appliance and bathroom handles, lamp and wall switches, stair railings, counter tops, coffee and kettles, chairs, sinks, tubs and toilets. You get clean bedding and towels. We require social distancing and masks in the house. Enjoy use of the of this fabulous home, shared by the hosts who have a downstairs bedroom. There is a well equipped kitchen and 2 full bathrooms, one with a tub and shower, the other with a soaking tub. Your host, Melody may be available to greet guests upon arrival, go over house info and rules, and has you sign guest registry. Your use of the whole 2nd floor is private. Main floor is shared. We offer you as much privacy as you desire. Melody knows all the roads, best places to eat, great things to do and sights to be seen to help make your stay very enjoyable. This home and grounds offer privacy near the end of a quiet dead end road. across from a trout stream and no immediate neighbors. It is adjacent to a 150 acre nature preserve and 17,000 acre Catskill Mountain State Park. Its unique beauty and charm make it much loved by all who visit. Enjoy listening to the stream, songbirds and owls, watching the stars anytime of year and butterflies and hummingbirds in the summer and fall. This home is a creative outlet for hikers, kayakers, designers, planning, meetings, socializing, writing, meditation, photography, science, music, performance, relaxation and art. Bring your bike, cross country skis, running and walking shoes. The Ashokan Rail-Trail, a long-awaited public recreational walkway is open to the public and minutes away. Please do not go off the path onto to the immediately adjacent Ashokan Watershed Property as this is considered trespassing and is under penalty of a fine and arrest. First proposed in 2012, the 11.5-mile trail is ten to twelve feet in width, with a compacted crushed-stone surface that allows accessibility to persons with disabilities and limited mobility. Constructed on the historic right-of-way of the Ulster & Delaware Railroad, bought by the county in 1979 and located on New York City watershed land, the pathway and its designated parking lots are open to permit-free public access. The trail is open dawn-to-dusk year-round for non-motorized uses, like hiking, bicycling, running, nature observation, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. There are many nearby hiking trails as well as seasonal rafting, canoeing and swimming in local streams and nearby lakes. There are restaurants within walking distance and many more within short driving distance. Bellayaer, Hunter Mountain and Windham ski centers are close by car as is Woodstock by car, bus or taxi. There are Farmer's markets close by as well as fresh free range organic chicken eggs and produce in Melody's seasonal organic garden available for guests to enjoy. Guests may use the kitchen to cook their own meals. We ask guests to recycle, compost organic waste and wash their own plates, utensils and cooking equipment. Melody's home is a 5 minute walk to and from the Trailways bus stop from New York City. There is ample parking for cars or RV. Five minute drive to shopping in Boiceville or Phoenicia, Fourteen minute drive to Woodstock. Twenty minute drive to Hunter and Belleayre ski slopes, Thirty minute drive to Windham ski slopes and the Hudson River cruises. Many local golf courses within 20 to 30 minute drive. TV has Netflix. Excellent highly filtered pure delicious well water. There is high speed wireless wi-fi. There are no pets or under age children allowed. Sweetie is a rescue pup mix who shares the home. She is a love and gets excited to meet new guests but calms down quickly.
