With stunning views across Gerrans Bay and within a few minutes walk of the villages of both Gerrans & Portscatho, the Old School House has a wonderful position. The property benefits from a modern construction yet has all the character of an older cottage including a cosy open fireplace and is a really comfortable place to stay. Old School House is on the edge of the quiet village of Gerrans adjacent to the village green and has great views over the bay to Nare Head & Gull Rock. The cottage, though recently built, has been traditionally designed with beams, box frame windows and has loads of character including a really cosy open fireplace in the sitting room. It is a very comfortable place to stay with the benefit of a great, west facing secure courtyard garden to the rear.It is just a short walk to the villages of Gerrans and neighbouring Portscatho. The Royal Standard pub is just a few steps away and is an excellent little village pub. A short walk down the hill in Portscatho, you can find great sandy beaches, clear waters and loads of rock pools for the kids to explore. Portscatho is well known for its art and there are galleries to browse. The Plume of Feathers is another excellent pub, plus there is a good local store, post office and the Boathouse restaurant.Accommodation Ground Floor: Sitting room with sea views, french windows opening onto the lovely garden & open fireplace, dining room with sea views & extending table seating up to 8 people. Fully fitted modern kitchen with utility room to the rear with freezer & tumble drier. WC with shower (Website hidden by Airbnb) Floor: Main double bedroom with large wardrobes & sea views, second double bedroom with wardrobes & sea views, small bunk room with standard bunk beds. Family bathroom with over bath shower & WC.Exterior: Lovely west facing enclosed courtyard garden to the rear with a small patio, exterior furniture. A BBQ is provided.Facilities & Services Heating is via night storage heaters, additional electric heaters plus the open fireplace in the sitting room. The windows are double-glazed. The kitchen is very well equipped with a range of cupboards, kettle, toaster, electric double oven & hob, microwave, dishwasher & fridge. There is a washing machine in the utility room and a tumble dryer & small freezer in the separate garage. In the sitting room there is a TV & DVD Player, music system, CDs, tapes & records. There is an iron and ironing board available. A cot, high chair & stair gate are available. WiFi is available at the property.Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included. However, please note that you must bring your own beach towels. A basket of logs is provided for the open fireplace, thereafter coal & logs are available locally. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are permitted at a small extra cost of £30 per week. We regret no smoking is permitted. There is a single parking space to the rear of the property. Portscatho and its neighbouring village of Gerrans are located on the eastern coast of the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, overlooking the dramatic Gerrans Bay. A truly peaceful waterside village, Portscatho is a lovely place for a holiday. There are miles of coastal and countryside footpaths to explore, particularly along St Anthony's Head. Portscatho was once a busy fishing harbour, but now it has become a haven for artists due to the striking light which is particularly good in the morning sun. More than anything, Portscatho is a relaxing place. The beaches such as Porthcurnick, Towan and Porthbeor are simply idyllic and these are only minutes from the village. With a superb local butchers shop, 2 great little pubs and a well stocked local store, Portscatho and Gerrans are a lovely place to spend a holiday.
