My grandparents built the cabin in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) as a place of summer retreat from the dust and buzz of the town of Trinec. After retirement, they used to spend the whole summers there, while family & friends frequently visited them. We fully renovated the cabin in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) We introduced contemporary comforts, yet preserved the original character. The cabin is situated on the slope of the hill "Ostry" at the edge of the forest, with nice views at the Tyra valley below. It has three small bedrooms with 5 bunk beds total (2+2+1), with new 80x200 cm orthopedic mattresses. (The upper beds require climbing up a ladder.) A sofa bed in the lounge can be unfolded to accommodate additional two people. With 12 people, the place gets very crowded (the living space is about 70 square meters); the comfortable occupancy is up to six people. Parking is 100 meters away below the cabin. The difference in elevation is 20 m. You need to be able to walk up a narrow unimproved forest path. Walk carefully and watch for stones, twigs, and slippery spots. The cabin is definitely NOT SUITABLE for people with walking disabilities or impairments! For returns late at night you will need a torch light (there are some in the cabin). If I am around, I will meet you in person. (I speak English, Russian, Czech, and some German and Polish.) If I am not around, someone will meet you, give you the keys, show you around and explain how things work. You will have my current phone number. Cell phone network coverage is good. You will be able to reach me through (Hidden by Airbnb) or (Hidden by Airbnb) . I am sometimes abroad or in an area without network coverage or internet access. Here are some alternative numbers to reach me: +(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). The settlement of Tyra is located in the northeast part of Czech Republic, in Silezia, in Beskydy Mountains, in a valley between the hills of Ostry and Javorovy. Town of Trinec is 6 km north. Poland and Slovakia is nearby. In summer, there are traditional mountain culture festivals ("gorolskie swieta" in Jablunkov and Lomna). Nearby town of Cieszyn (12 km) has rich history. Polish side has holiday resorts like Wisla. Primeval forest Mionsi is 20 km away. City Ostrava is 50 km away. You can visit "Trojmezi" (Hrcava): the picturesque place where the three countries' borders meet. The region is good for hiking, mountain biking, mushroom and berries picking, or just relaxing. In summer there is a small community of local holidaymakers spending vacations in their cabins or coming for a day trip from nearby town of Trinec. Some meet in local pubs to enjoy beer and conversation (for example, "U Kotaly"). The artificial lake of Terlicko, used by locals for fishing, swimming and water sports, is 25 km away (30 min drive). There is a public bus connecting Tyra with Trinec. Trinec has a dense bus network with nearby destinations, and is on a national rail route (there are direct trains to Prague). I would still recommend coming by car, though. You will be more flexible going shopping and visiting nearby touristic attractions (unless you have already decided to spend the time in the cabin reading books and picking mushrooms and wild berries). On very dry summers after weeks without rain (happens rarely), the water which we source from the forest spring might get low or stop running. You can buy drinking water in a grocery store about 3 km down the valley or in nearby restaurants/pubs ("U Kotaly", "U Liberdy"). If you don't use water during the day, enough water might collect for evening shower. (Dry spells usually correlate with hot weather, so you can also plunge into the river running down the valley - there are several nice spots used by locals.) We do not provide internet connection but if you can access the internet through your cell phone, the network coverage is strong by all major Czech mobile phone operators. There are several places nearby with free WiFi (for example, "U Kotaly").
