The Old Post Office is a cosy Cumbrian cottage located in the coastal village of Sandwith, close to Whitehaven and The Lake District. Sandwith is on the Coast to Coast Walk. The cottage has everything for a perfect lakes holiday. A double bedroom, one king, and bunk beds. There are two reception rooms, one with a beautiful open fire, stylish new kitchen, dining area and two bathrooms. Outside there is plenty of space with patio areas for outdoor dining and the large hot tub set in a private area The Old Post Office was originally the village post office, prior to that it was the White Horse Inn. The house still has the original post office safe. There are two parking spaces on the front drive. In the rear garden there are three seating areas. Right outside the back door is a small sheltered area with bistro table. Up the steps there is another area with a large pub style table for dining. At the top of the garden is the patio area with hot tub in the pergola. The back gate provides direct access to a rear lane which then takes you on to the coast to coast route and access to the cumbria coastal way, St Bees lighthouse and the heritage coast RSPB nature reserve. Guests have sole use of the two parking spaces on the drive, the rear garden with patio and hot tub, and conservatory. We live nearby so can answer questions easily if required. Sandwith is a lovely rural village located within the St Bees Heritage Coast RSPB nature reserve (Website hidden by Airbnb) You can take a walk along the cumbria coastal way to the cliff top viewing stations to view nesting sea birds such as herring gulls, kittiwake, fulmar, guillemot and razorbill. Sandwith is also on the popular coast to coast walk, made famous by walker, writer and artist Alfred Wainwright. Sandwith is a quiet village close to St Bees and the beaches there, and to Whitehaven with restaurants, pubs, museums and shops. Sandwith has a great Pub called the Dog and Partridge, popular with locals and coast to coast walkers. The Dog and Partridge serves a variety of drinks and hot meals, and has a cosy real fire as well as outdoor space. A car is essential to get to Sandwith. Nearest bus stop is at Greenbank or Kells, about 1 mile away. Nearest train station is Whitehaven, about 3 miles away or St Bees, 2 miles away. Nearest shop is Whitehaven 2.5 miles away. There is a pub called The Dog and Partridge in Sandwith, about 100 yards from the property.
