What ever the reason for your 'get away' we can't wait to welcome you to Craigduckie! Why not bring your wellies and roll your sleeves up to help with feeding and caring for our sheep, cows and chickens? - all guests receive a complimentary farm tour with a chance to meet the animals and sit on the tractor. We want you to spend quality time together, making memories whilst embracing the outdoors, getting back to basics, building dens, flying kites or going on an adventure off the beaten track. We are conveniently located just 15 minutes from junction 4 of the M90, 40 minutes from Edinburgh and just an hour from Glasgow so are very centrally based for exploring Scotland. Our handcrafted Shepherds Huts are finished to an exceptionally high standard with a partially glazed stable door leading to the quirky double bed (which folds up to create a seating area) and single bunk beds (suitable for children). The huts take glamping to a new level of glamorous with hot showers, wood burning stoves for warming the toes, solid oak kitchens with Belfast sink, hob, oven and fridge. Our kitchen area is fully equipped with everything you might need and we love to add little touches like home baking, marshmallows for toasting as well as tea coffee etc to get you started. Each hut has a fire pit with grate for BBQ’ing, outside seating area and its own hen house so you can collect fresh eggs for breakfast. We can’t wait to welcome you! Outside, park your cars adjacent to the huts and pack your luggage (and kids) into a barrow for the short walk to your hut (20m). Due to our rural location a taxi is required from our local bus station at Halbeath or Dunfermline (approx 3 - 4 miles) or the railway stations at Queen Margaret or Dunfermline Town. If you need any assistance with travel arrangements please contact us. We are never far away and are always happy to help whenever needed. We want to make your stay with us one you will treasure. We love to show guests around the farm and answer any questions you have about what we do. We also respect the fact that some people may simply want to escape and will leave you in peace. We are a rural loch side location with lovely countryside views. This said we are only 40min from Edinburgh and less than an hour from Glasgow. All guests are encouraged to enjoy the surrounding countryside and we provide maps of local walking routes and a list of mini adventures around the farm including beastie hunts and den building. Townhill Country Park is a great walk and super for children with a lovely play park, tennis courts and walk way around Townhill loch. Townhill woods is also a great place for an adventure. Blairadam Forest is close by and well known by mountain bikers and walkers as is Loch Glow. Balmule Park Fishery is only a 5min drive and is an excellent activity for he whole family or experienced fisherman. Why not complete your farm stay with an experience at Craigluscar Activities where you can do tractor driving, clay pigeon shooting and hovercrafting! Craigluscar is only a 10min drive from us. The former Royal Burgh of Dunfermline is our main town and is only a 5 min drive. The town offers an excellent public park, stunning Dunfermline Abbey and the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum as well as lots of cafes restaurants and shops. We are also very lucky to have great days out within easy reach - Blair Drummond Safari Park, Edinburgh Zoo, Falkirk Wheel, The Kelpies (our favourite park - don’t forget your swimwear for the water park in the summer), Clip and Climb, Ratho, Deep Sea World, South Queensferry and lots of local award winning Beaches. We are a mile from the main road so you need to bring your car and there is off road parking adjacent to the huts. Once your hear you don’t have to go far to have fun and local fast food shops will deliver to the huts. Lamb Lookout sleeps up to two adults and 2 children. Unfortunately we do not accept perts due to the accommodation being located on our sheep farm.
