Little Brick House Off Main (Apt. B)
Bright, clean and cozy second-floor apartment located just steps to restaurants, bars, cafes, and shopping in the heart of historic downtown Vergennes. This convenient location is a 35-minute drive to Burlington and just 20 mins to Middlebury. A 10-minute drive to nearby Button Bay Park and Basin Harbor Resort on the shores of Lake Champlain. 35-minute drive to Mad River Glen Ski Area, 50-minute drive to Sugarbush Resort, and just 35 minutes to the Middlebury Snow Bowl. Newly renovated, this apartment is decorated to be a comfortable space for guests to relax in. Your private outdoor space includes a front deck/ balcony with rocking chairs and a view of the little city and nearby mountains. The bedroom has a full-size bed that sleeps two. Additional sleeping arrangements consist of a full-size inflatable mattress that can be set up in the living room to sleep two additional guests. The living room has a closet and a door that can be closed for privacy. The apartment has high-speed Comcast cable internet, and a work space set up so you can work remotely if needed. A kitchen table seats four and is a comfortable place to enjoy meals during your stay. The galley kitchen is outfitted with everything you need to cook (if you can tear yourself away from enjoying the various restaurants in town)! Guests are welcome to use their private balcony/ deck. There is parking for one car in the driveway, and additional street parking right outside is free. Please note that the backyard is private. I communicate via the Airbnb app, phone call, texts or email throughout your stay. Vergennes is a picturesque Vermont village with an impressive collection of restaurants and cafes, a town green that hosts the farmers market in summer, and a bandstand with outdoor concerts and events. The apartment is a short walk to the waterfalls (take a picnic!) on the Otter Creek. Nothing beats morning coffee and pastries from the newly re-opened Vergennes Laundry (featured in the New York Times), or for a full breakfast try Three Squares cafe. Enjoy a delicious dinner at Black Sheep Bistro, Park Squeeze, or Bar Antidote (a speak-easy feel bar and restaurant, just two doors up)! Explore the Hired Hand Brewery's selection of beers, and flatbread pizzas. The main street hosts art galleries, antique stores, clothing boutiques, and a wine & liquor store - just to name a few amenities within a short walk of the apartment. This town has a rich history, which can be enjoyed by visiting the gorgeous domed library, the 1800's Opera House, and the Pump House on the falls. Vergennes is just a ten-minute drive to Lake Champlain, which can be accessed via Button Bay State Park or Basin Harbor Resort. Both include activities such as hiking paths, swimming areas, children's play zones and more! Bus stop at the corner, walkable downtown, convenient driving to nearby destinations via route 7 and 22A. Please note that the building is located right in the downtown, and across the street from the fire department. There are the expected sounds that go along with being in a small but busy town, including traffic, trucks, plows, etc. Although the fire sirens go off occasionally, it doesn't seem to happen more than once every few days, and very rarely at night. A friend's 10-month-old slept soundly during their stay!
