Dove Cottage is a Cheerful 2 Bedroom Cottage

Cozy two bedroom cottage located in Atlanta Michigan close to downtown Dove Cottage was built in 1950 and completely renovated in 2022 with care taken to preserve some of the original features including the log covered exterior. Dove Cottage is a 720 square foot cottage with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a large front room. The cottage contains 1 queen sized bed, a set of double bunk beds, 3 single beds and a double pull out couch. The cottage sits on .86 acres and is within walking distance of downtown Atlanta which was established in 1881. In the summer months enjoy the cottages AC, grilling and outdoor area. In the winter months enjoy the coziness of the cottage, complementary coffee and electric fireplace. Atlanta Michigan celebrates the 4 seasons with beautiful scenic fall leaves, summer fishing, swimming and boating, fall hunting and ATV trails and winter skiing, snowmobiling and snowball fights. Atlanta was named the Elk capital of Michigan in 1986 and hosts an annual Elk festival the last weekend of September. The Elk festival is a 4 day event that includes live bands, a bump’n’run, parades and fun for the whole family. Elk viewing horse drawn carriage rides are available at the Thunder Bay Resort. Atlanta also hosts a yearly sno drift rally, turkey hunting and fishing tournaments. Dove Cottage is less than 1 mile from Thunder Bay river which flows into Lake Erie. Thunder Bay river has a brand new boat launch and is one of 11 great fishing lakes in the area. The cottage is within walking distance of the local grocery store, gas station and Fat Chicks BBQ and Pizza. Snowmobile and ATV trails run past the cottage. Garland Lodge and Golf Resort is 20 miles from the cottage, Clear Lake State park is 9 miles away, Otsego Ski resort 32 miles and Mackinac Island 62 miles. Dove Cottage is named after a photo that was found in the ceiling during renovations in 2022. The photo is of a painting by A. Spiess that was painted in 1881.
