Stay in a purpose-built BnB wing attached to our new house built to an eHaus spec, assuring year round comfort. Situated in an acre of landscaped gardens on the edge of a working farm you can chill out after a hard day on the road or trails by soaking in the spa, taking in the view to Mt Te Aroha. We can accommodate up to 4 (either 2 couples or a couple and 2 singles) using the fold-down bed in the living room. Breakfast is provided, with additional meals/transport/services on request. For one or two guests, the main bedroom consists of a king bed which can be split into two singles on request. When accommodating three or four, a couple will use the fold down queen bed in the living room, while up to two others (couple or singles) can use the bedroom. A portacot is available for infants. The bathroom is accessible independently. There is no carbon monoxide detector - the house is all-electric, so there are no carbon-based fuels to burn. You have your own carport adjacent to the front door of the BnB wing. There's plenty of room for additional vehicles, and secure storage for bikes if desired. We are within easy cycling distance of Te Aroha (around half an hour on the back roads), and easily accessible by car/motorbike from other towns, the closest being Morrinsville, Matamata and Paeroa. We can run a cycle shuttle service on request. While you will have the BnB wing to yourself, your hosts Pauline & Steve will generally be available in the main house We are located in rural Waihou, between Te Aroha and Morrinsville. We are close to the Hauraki Cycle Trail, and within easy distance of Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Hobbiton and the Coromandel. We're rural, so you'll need wheeled transport to get to us. There's plenty of parking off the road. We're not easily accessible by public transport. Why Kahuimanu? Loosely translated as a flock of birds, we are actively planting and dealing to pests to encourage our native bird life. If you're interested in eHaus (aka PassiveHouse) concepts then Steve would be happy to take you around the property explaining what makes an eHaus special.
