There is a small garden with a table and chairs in front of the annexe (beside the parking area) which guests will have sole use. The gardens to the rear and side of the house are unfortunately off limits. We're usually around and always happy to help. The village of Talaton: The village centre is a 2-minute walk up the road and has an award-winning village shop, a 13th century church, and a friendly pub serving simple food at specified times. Local Gastro Pubs / Restrauants: (booking only so please see their websites): The Five Bells, Clyst Hydon (3-miles) The Jack in the Green, Rockbeare (5-miles) The Pig at Combe (6-miles) Local Pubs: The Six Bells, Payhembury (2-miles) The Thirsty Farmer, Whimple (3-miles) The Drewe Arms, Broad Hembury (5-miles) Local Attractions: Wildwood Escot (1.5-miles). Wildwood Trust is a centre of excellence for the conservation of British wildlife, and was established as a registered charity in 2002. Escot Park is one of two wildlife parks run by the Wildwood Trust and is set in beautiful ancient woodland where visitors can see wolves, owls, foxes, red squirrels, wild boar, lynx, wild cat, otters and others. Local Towns: The pretty seaside town of Sidmouth (10-miles); the historic Lace-town of Honiton with its numerous antique shops (8-miles); the Cathedral City and County Town of Exeter (12-miles). Coast Lines: The historic Jurassic South Coast and nearby coastal towns are all within a 30-minute-to-an-hours' drive: Sidmouth (10-miles), Exmouth (14-miles), Budleigh Salterton (14-miles), Branscombe (14-miles), Beer (16-miles), and Lyme Regis (22-miles). The stunning and vast sandy beaches of the North Devon Coast are within a 2-hour drive: Saunton Sands (55-miles), Croyde Bay (59-miles), Woolacombe (62-miles), Putsborough (59-miles), Barricane (63-miles) . Moorland: Both the Dartmoor National Park (38-miles) and Exmoor National Park (30-miles) are within easy driving distance. Directions: Talaton is easily accessed from both Junction 28 of the M5 (8-miles), or the Daisy Mount junction of the A30 (3-miles). Exeter Airport is 8-miles away and we are 2-miles from the London Waterloo - Penzance train line stations at Feniton / Whimple. We would strongly recommend visitors have a car; however, the London Waterloo - Penzance train line is only 2-miles away (Feniton / Whimple), so for anyone wanting a walking / cycling holiday, we could organise transport to/from the station. There is also a bus service to Exeter / Sidmouth. We live in the beautiful Devon countryside and are blessed with a dawn chorus of birdsong accompanied by an orchestra of rook chatter! The contribution that nature makes to our surroundings is something I cannot influence and from our many reviews, most guests happily embrace!
