Super 4 bed detached with drive, patio and garden.
This super detached home is perfect for a stay in the market town of Driffield, at the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds near the east coast. Ideal for walkers, bikers, to visit friends and family or if working locally. This comfortable house is entirely yours for the stay. There's a lounge, conservatory, kitchen and cloakroom. There are four bedrooms: one double en-suite, another double, one king, one bunk beds and a main bathroom. The property has recently been renovated to a high standard. The house was built in the 1920s and we have recently restored it. It is next door to where we currently live so we are on hand if you need us, but we won't intrude. There's a new kitchen, main bathroom and en-suite, plus new boiler and central heating system. All rooms have been recently redecorated and have new carpets and curtains. There's an extensive patio area, gardens (approx 150 ft) and a pond. The outside dining tables and seating are available during spring, summer and autumn. The patio is a fantastic place to sit, enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, and watch the variety of birds and wildlife which visit. You can wander to the end of the extensive gardens to see our organic allotment area (where you might see us gardening), or peek into the greenhouses to see what's growing at the time. We are currently re-wilding some of the grassed area. One room in the property is not accessible as it's used by Pete as his artist studio. However, he will not be there whilst you are staying and the room will be locked. You can peek through the window to see what he's currently working on. He has exhibited in several galleries. There is a 'house book' in the property for when you arrive, which gives information about all the rooms and what's in them. Details of how to use the appliances within the property are also accessible. There are lots of board games for your use if you fancy a quiet night in. There's also a record player, two DVD players, three televisions (Freeview) and a variety of books. The king bedroom has a memory foam mattress and pillows. Quilts are either feather and/or polyester. Please note: no children under 12 or pets are allowed. There are some lovely walks in and around Driffield, particularly at Riverhead and King's Mill where you can see a variety of wildlife and birds. Places to visit such as Scarborough, Bridlington, Beverley and Hull are not too far away by train or car. There's a private drive for your vehicle/s with a gate at the front of the property which can be closed if you wish. There is also gated access to the rear of the property, perhaps if you have cycles/motorbikes and wish to put them out of sight. We will meet you at the property with the keys, just call us when you are not far away. If you would like to travel by bus or train, stations are about a 10-15 minute walk away. There are several taxi companies in the town. The town centre is a five minute walk away and the local pub only 3-4 minutes. There is plenty of free, and pay-and-display parking in the town. There are electric vehicle chargers at Tesco, Lidl, and the local library car park in the town centre. The house is on a residential street within the lovely market town of Driffield, East Yorkshire. It's only a five minute walk to the town centre with lots of independent shops as well as nationals such as Boots, Tesco, Lidl and Iceland. There are several takeaways, cafes and restaurants, including JD Wetherspoon's. Takeaway menus are in the property and most will deliver. Please see the Driffield Guidebook (on this site) for more information. It's only a short walk or a drive into the town centre. There is on-street parking, free parking and paid for parking depending upon where you choose to go. There are regular buses and trains to Beverley, Hull, Bridlington and Scarborough. Electric charging points are available at Tesco, Lidl and in the library car park in the town centre. Although the house can sleep 8, a maximum of 6 persons are only allowed at any one time (no pets, or children under 12 unless by prior arrangement - please contact us). The bunk bed room gives an option of single beds, rather than a double bed.
