Hillside Studio is situated in the small town of Donnybrook a short stroll to the Preston River, local shops, cafes and pub. It is central to the Geographe region surrounded by beautiful bush walks, award wining boutique wineries, restaurants, speciality cafes, beautiful beaches and amazing local produce. The studio is a fully self contained private space with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. A great place to relax and unwind. A calm, stylish, relaxed space. King size or twin beds. There is a fully equipped kitchen, relaxed seating outside and table for indoor of outdoor dining. A TV provides chrome cast facilities only. there are a selection of books and magazines. The studio is set on a large steep established block with a winter dam and lovely views of the surrounding hills and bush. Park on the front verge. Use the large farm gate to enter the property. Follow the path around to the left and along the side of the studio to the back. There is a lock box. Code will be provided once your booking is confirmed. Perfectly nestled in the Preston Valley, Donnybrook sits on the Preston River and is central to the beautiful well kept secret of the Geographe region of South West Australia. The Geographe region encompasses award winning wineries with gold plate restaurants as well as the amazing beaches that stretch from Myalup to Capel. The stretch of the south west highway through Geographe and south to Manjipmup and Walpole is known as the Harvest Highway. There is an abundance of local produce from fruit, vegetables, nuts, to cheese and chocolate, maron and of course wine and olive oil, all masterfully created by passionate growers and makers in the Region. In addition, the Art scene is abundant, with several Art trail events each year and regular art markets. In addition the region partners with the Blackwood region for Open garden trails and sporting events. Lovers of the bush will also be at home with both hiking and cycling catered for with the Bibbulman track and the Munda Biddi. The Geographe wine region stretches from Harvey to Busselton and inland to Donnybrook. there is a great self drive trail you can do, or take a tour. The famous Donnybrook apple fun park is in town along with many major events during the year - Donnybrook Food and Wine festival, Donnybrook Apple festival, Ballingup Medieval festival and Small Farm day, Manjimup Cherry festival, to name a few. In Donnybrook itself, you'll find a selection of speciality shops, cafes, bakery restaurants, Post Office and Supermarket. With Donnybrook being so central in the region, it is a great place to base yourself for day trips across the Geographe region and further afield to the Southern Forests and Margaret River regions. The City of Bunbury is the main regional centre with all your major facilities. You'll find additional information and recommendations in the studio. Donnybrook is located on the Harvest Highway, approximately 2 hours drive south from Perth. It is 40 minutes from Busselton airport and 15 minutes from Bunbury airport. 25 minute drive from Bunbury train station/City. There is a coach service from Perth, please search TransWA website for details. There is free off road parking at Hillside. It is a five minute walk from Hillside into Donnybrook town, either along the river or along the road. The Munda Biddi bike trail runs through Donnybrook just north of town. Hillside Studio is set on a steep uneven block. Whilst you are welcome to wander the block, extreme care should be taken. Please respect natural privacy boundaries/screening to the main house and art studio.
