DUE TO COVID-19 WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING INSTANT BOOKINGS. Beautiful, spacious, light filled room with it's own private entrance. Best of both worlds - nature's beauty and a quick commute to downtown! Comfy bed and lots of amenities. Large bathroom with step-in shower, plenty of storage. Big closet, mini-fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. The room has a private entrance off the back patio. Your well-behaved dog is welcome (limit 2, crated in your absence). The home is located 18 miles from historic Santa Fe on 12 acres of wooded property. You get the best of both worlds...country life with close proximity to all that Santa Fe has to offer. Acres of hiking trails, close to the Pecos River, Pecos National Historic Park, and the Glorieta Civil War battlefield. If you are traveling with large vehicles, there is plenty of parking. Horse people can tie their ride up on the property, or (with permission) use the round pen next door. Guests can access the private entrance bedroom via a handicap accessible sidewalk. Guests may also make themselves at home on the back patio or the front porch. There is an outdoor fireplace, as well as a campfire ring! Hosts are on site and will interact as desired with guests. In nice weather, hosts will typically hang out on the patio, which guests are welcome to share. We spend a lot of time outside working on/around the property. Our presence with you during your stay is entirely up to you. Our two Corgi dogs will be very interested in you and want to interact. They are extremely friendly and will love the attention you give them. Historic Glorieta is a rural community, with a mixture of large homes and manufactured homes. Glorieta Estates, where the home is located, is a community of approximately 30 homes set at the base of the Glorieta Mesa. The property is isolated enough that you cannot see the neighbors, yet close enough to I25 to make the trip into town quite convenient. There is a small community (Eldorado) about 8 miles away which offers groceries, some excellent restaurants, a brew pub, shops, and other amenities. You will need a vehicle; public transportation is not available. The home is accessed via approximately 1/2 mile of dirt/gravel road which at times can be muddy/rutted but 4 wheel/awd is not necessary. We enjoy the outdoors and even have a large campfire ring that guests are welcome to use. Also, dining al fresco is available on the front porch with beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Our property sits at the base of the Glorieta Mesa, which can provide a challenging hike for anyone interested. There are also more moderate hikes on the property. History buffs would be excited to know that evidence of pueblo culture (from the nearby Pecos Pueblo ca (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ad) has been found on and nearby the property, as well as a fairly well-defined wagon trail. The property is adjacent to the Santa Fe Trail.
