(lots of restaurants , stores , everything you would need) ,but in a country setting looking out at the woods with the occasional deer and turkey. The cottage has an open floor plan with sink with hot and cold water, small fridge, stove, Heat, AC, fan, wi-fi, cable TV, stereo, video, grill, shades over the rolling open front window doors, Full size bed, super cozy with a memory foam mattress and feather top. The NEW bathroom for guests is located on the first floor of the main house. Your access is through the back door a less than one minute walk from the cottage AC on the wall above stove.. just power on Heater food of bed.. use the power button and then arrows for up and down.. please turn both down when reached proper levels. esp heat as it gets too hot in there .. small space All cellular networks work in my yard with the sometimes exception of Verizon, but there is always wifi and texting usually works for verizon.... any cell with wifi enabled calling on works Taxi Cab Companies:(if arriving by train) (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) (kisco cab) (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) (mt kisco taxi) Local take out menus available inside the shed great for a quiet few days of reading writing movies resting . decompression. creating... or for those of you who really want to take advantage of many things in the area think about renting a car... The Cottage and yard area immediately around the cottage is ALL Yours.....A NEW Bathroom for shower and toilet is on the first floor, just inside the back door of the Main House. Towels, shampoo, bath gel etc all provided. Washer/drier available in the basement for those spending a week. to enter the house: push the back door open. (the vintage door knobs do not turn). please also pull the door close once you enter walk through the office and turn left in the hallway. the second door on the left is the bathroom crack the window after a shower, place bath mat on the floor. Very friendly person- happy to point out things of interest and do whatever i can to make you feel comfortable..... when I’m not home more than two or three days i generally have a house /cat sitter staying in the main house. you will ALWAYS have someone to help you should you need anything and you can always text or call me I live in a suburban neighborhood with my house being set in an extremely private setting at a dead-end , very tranquil surrounded by woods and thick plantings…. Close proximity to town(three miles/5 minutes- lots of restaurants and amenities), but in close proximity to many quaint towns, beautiful countryside, cultural interests, lots of outdoor hiking , biking etc Summer thick plantings and flowers.. .. Foliage in Fall is grande! winter can be magical .. Spring again glorious as the trees bloom and flowers burst Cultural interests; Westchester- Katonah , Neuberger and Hudson River Museum. Wave Hill- Bronx Chuang Yen Monastery (Carmel NY-largest buddha western hemisphere) , CT- Philip Johnson Glass House, Aldrich, Bruce and Stamford Museum, Jacob Burns Film Center ,Caramoor, Storm King, Rockefeller Home, The Dia Museum, Cold Spring, Bear Mountain, The Garden Conservancy open gardens (see beautiful private gardens) Blue Hill at Stone Barns. History: check out historic Hudson Valley: Kykuit, Sunny Side, Olana, Philipsburg Manor, Van Cortlandt park , Lyndhurst, Manitoba BIKING: lots of trails.. use the link- north and south county trail ways bike maps for various routes. Bike Sundays- close Bronx River Parkway during certain Sundays Parks: Bear Mountain, Ward Pound Ridge, Rockefeller Park(rte 117). Stone Barns, Croton Dam HIKING: Mianus Gorge w waterfalls,Teatown Reservation - Ossining, Turkey Mountain- Yorktown, Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve,Arthur W. Butler Memorial Sanctuary- near Mount Kisco, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation-Pound Ridge, Westmoreland Sanctuary-near Mount Kisco, Sundays: Elephants Trunk Vintage Flea market every sunday-April -Nov 7a-2p Stormville Flea Market , one weekend a month april to dec Beacon Flea Market Rockland - Edward Hopper House Nyack Metro North Train or drive to/from city (NYC discount parking on line available). i am on hour from NYC whether train or car.. Metro North Train to/from NYC (1 hr) or drive to many things of interest within an hour.. Train also to connecticut and towns north. Taxis abundant. Best for people with a car.. some rent on price line very inexpensively if they don't have one...or if you like to bike, Or if you want to just rest , read, do your craft you can take a cab from the train station and have a quiet weekend. Food delivery of all kinds available (Greek, Thai , Indian, Chinese, Italian, Sushi) NO Outside Guests other than the renters , UNLESS you get my permission first PREFER TWO NITES ON WEEKENDS MAY-OCT. Fri/sat or sat/sun. But WILL Do single nights if not booked!! Dogs--- will consider on case by case basic small NON-shedding dogs for an extra fee of $25 per nite . All poops must be disposed of in the woods, and the dog must have their own bed. You must inquire for a dog as i don’t generally take them dog poops must be picked up and thrown over the wall into the woods remove your bowls and dog food on departure. thanks I generally do not host children for liability reasons, but i do it on a case by case basis . $25 extra per nite.... please bring your own porto crib, and diapers must be thrown out daily NO USE OF CANDLES OR OILS in the cottage NO SMOKING IN THE COTTAGE... Yes OUTSIDE with use of ashtray - please clean it out before you leave it is a wood cottage and my biggest concern is safety.. please UNPLUG toaster and coffee pot after each time used and before you check out during may-end of oct the Lawn will be mowed between the hours 8-9 on fridays(lower your shades) DO NOT EVER touch the OVER HEAD LIGHT WITH THE METAL COVERING New Shades for the front paned windows! Please use the chains GINGERLY Strong Wi-Fi PLEASE CLOSE the front paned slider windows and doors at dusk to prevent the entry of bugs and animals that can enter when not looking. We have a remote light that comes on with movement at the back door and on the cottage and solar path lights and battery operated lanterns for extra illumination for late night bathroom walks(very close to main house) Ping Pong, books.. other games available . Bathroom/shower is used in the main house. see above description to see how to enter the house through the back door.(hoping next season for an outdoor shower.. mb a toilet) AC to the foot of the bed and right of tv (wall unit is disengaged, do not touch) Heater foot of bed. hit power button and arrows up and down to increase and decrease heat.. always turn it down after right temp reached bc it gets too hot one hour massages available by appointment indoor or outdoor if you want some extra pampering Please leave the cottage as you found it.. much appreciated NO USE OF OILS, other than for cooking inside the cottage no incense
