However, it is the most expensive. The rates are fixed every year and are different for different seasons. There are no meters, but the rates are standard according to the destination and are displayed at the taxi square. Taxi square is at the main square of the island, next to the statue of Manto Mavrogenenous. By Bus The local Bus service is the cheapest means of transport in Mykonos Island. There are two main bus stations which service the tourists' transportation at the most popular villages and the well-known beaches. North station is located behind the archaeological museum, near the telephone company building. From this station you can go to north and east part of the island: Agios Stefanos ,Tourlos, Kalafati, Elia, Kalo Livadi and Ano Mera. South station is situated in the square Fabrika, near the Olympic airway office. From here you can visit Ornos, Agios Yannis, Plati Gialos, Psarou, Paraga, Paradise and Airport. Ticket values depend on the destination but are very cheap, usually less than 2 euros. Bus frequency varies according to the tourist season (low or high). You will have no problem catching a bus during the day and early evening in the summer season. Make sure to check with the driver for bus times. By Car or Motorbike In Mykonos you will have the opportunity to rent a car, a motorbike or a scooter. It is the quickest way to get around. But be careful because there are some important points in order to rent a car or a bike. For example the age or the years of having the license. There are many places-shops which provide this kind of services but in the busy months of summer be sure to book in advance.
