Set in the magnificent grounds of Lanwithan Manor, surrounded by acres of extensive gardens and parkland with fantastic mature trees, rhododendrons, camelias and azaleas boasting beautiful colours throughout the year, including bluebell woods, and an old cider orchard. These two apartments form the south wing of the manor house and were originally the governess’s residence and the children’s nursery, now beautifully converted into spacious holiday homes. The manor house was built in 1827 for the family which still resides there. Steeped in history, the apartments are named after a romantic couple from an old Cornish love story. Lanwithan Manor is in a peaceful, rural location, yet is just a 5-minute walk into the lovely little riverside town of Lostwithiel, well known as the antiques capital of Cornwall for its range of antique shops and art galleries. Close by are some wonderful places to visit including Restormel Castle and the beautiful National Trust house and gardens of Lanhydrock House. Isolda’s (ref. UKC3905) is in the spacious, south facing wing of the Georgian manor house, with views from the living room across the magnificent gardens of Lanwithan. With sweet smelling roses climbing the exterior, a spacious living room and a lovely bedroom, both with period furniture, this is a fabulous rural escape for couples throughout the year. Level flat access from the car park area into the apartment makes it suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Tristan’s (ref. UKC3906) is the first floor apartment in the south wing, and is perfect for either a couple or a small family. With a spacious, farmhouse style kitchen/dining room, two pretty bedrooms and a cosy living room, overlooking the grounds, across fields and down to the River Fowey in the valley below, Tristan’s makes an ideal choice for a relaxing break. The friendly owners live in the manor house and guests are most welcome to wander the grounds and gardens and find secret hidden areas to explore. Sorry, these properties cannot accept dogs as there is a pet wallaby in the garden. Beach 7 miles. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub ½ mile. These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 6 guests. Free WiFi
