The WATERFALL COTTAGE: Best fishing, sunsets & only steps from quaint town.

The Waterfall Cottage is located on LONG POND, in the quaint town of Belgrade Lakes (where the author of the iconic book/movie “On Golden Pond” summered and wrote about). This backdrop sets as the perfect vacation in our classic Maine cottage where memories are made. Our lake is part of a chain of 7 pristine lakes, known for its ideal swimming, boating, canoeing and some if the best fishing in New England. UPDATE- during the summer 2021 our village had a devastating storm hit our waterfront (microburst) which uprooted over 20 of our trees along the waterfront. Amazingly, our camps and homes were not hit, but our waterfront looks MUCH different. Some say “unstructured views now” but we are sad to see so many 100 year old trees gone. We are in phase two of re-planting our shoreline trees- but if you never rented from me… you would never know. And now we have a beautiful new lawn spilling down to the waterfront (which my boys love). Our 4 bedroom cottage is uniquely perched between a the Damn (waterfall) that connects us to Long pond (so two sides of cottage is surrounded by water) and only STEPS from the quaint Village. Roll out of bed to grab that cup of coffee/paper at the famed “Days country store”, or walk to the farmers markets, or local Maine made shops while enjoying casual & fine dining in town. Belgrade is also home to award wining 5 star golf course, and many hiking and walking trails along the many mountains with in a few miles from cottage. Our lake home is conveniently located 15 miles from our state capital of Augusta, and 15 miles to Waterville- home of Colby college. Both have all your conveniences that larger cities have (movie theaters, dining, museums, big block stores). The coast of Maine is 50 miles away, great for a day trip to our beaches, whale watching in Rockland, shopping the outlets in Freeport, or flying in and out one of the countries most picturesque cities Of Portland Maine. About our home: The Waterfall Cottage is our home away from home that has been creating wonderful memories for our our family and our renters for over 20 years. Whether its gathering at the waterfront to roast marshmallows in the stone fireplace, or taking in the incredible sunsets while sitting in our Adirondack chairs on our private dock, or falling asleep under the brightest stars listening to the sounds of the loons and the waterfall on the side of the house, our home will create long lasting memories for your family. The waterfront: Our home is part of a PRIVATE “shared” waterfront known as The Village Camps, established in 1940s and once owned by the Wrigley’s of Wrigley field. This private waterfront has 7 Independently owned cottages that EACH have their own land/private dock. We share 350 feet of additional water frontage on an acre of land including a communal boat slip/ for additional boats, unlimited wood in the wood shed, trash removal service, maintenance of lawns. Our PRIVATE Dock has stairs that lead down into sandy shallow bottom with about 3 1/2 to 4 feet of water (when water is high) which is great for kids. We have kayaks and canoes and space to tie up your own boat ( up to 18 feet) or tie up bigger boats to our mooring. RESERVATIONS: Rental weeks typically rent Monday-Monday in peak season. Summer of 2022 almost booked!! We have a few summer weeks left in late august- Sept. I have Some long weekends avail in May and June, Sept and Oct with a THREE night min. Reservations are taken on first come first serve and held with a 50% deposit of the weekly rental. Please see my rates and calendar availability. Since there is only one full bath, we recommend no more than seven persons But the home will sleep eight. RENTAL AGREEMENT: *$250 SECURITY DEPOSIT, PLUS 50% OF BALANCE DUE WITH IN 7 BUSINESS DAYS OF EMAILED CONFIRMATION. BALANCE DUE 60 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL (unless otherwise noted). ANY CANCELLATIONS WILL BE REFUNDED ALL MONIES ONLY IF WE CAN RE-RENT YOUR WEEK.
