SHASTA LAKESHORE RETREAT #3. This home is one of the four TOP LAKEFRONT* homes on Shasta Lake next to Sugarloaf Marina on the Sacramento arm of the lake. The home features 5 bedrooms/loft and 2 bathrooms with some of the best views of the lake possible. The home is the latest addition to the Shasta Lakeshore Retreat collection. These THREE homes have over 200 FIVE STAR Reviews and are all on the same short cul-de-sac street. Great also for larger parties up to 50. The other two: Retreat #1 (up to 10 people) vrbo/755925 Retreat #2 (up to 14 people) vrbo/926144 Retreat #4 (up to 12 people) vrbo/2447594 Retreat #1 & #2 (up to 24 people)vrbo/934760 This is a special place for all to enjoy on the BEST lake in California (FULL4 of 6 past years, not 2021), always flat, easy to find, 80-90 degree water in summer and 365 miles of shoreline when full) and located on the most desirable part of the lake (upper Sacramento arm in the wonderful community of Lakehead). This lake house is one of the closest to Sugarloaf Marina via a short walk on a nice trail and is on the most desired street in Lakehead. The lake house (or cabin) features three stories of living space with wood beam ceilings and large windows looking out onto the lake and mountains. You can normally anchor your boat behind the house or launch it everyday at the ramp which is a 1/4 of a mile away. For more information please see our web site by doing a search for "shasta lakeshore retreat". Please also look at Retreat #1 on VRBO at #755925 and Retreat #2 at #926144. Please look at the photos and read the many 5 star reviews. Due to a great number of returning guests we tend to book up early especially for the summer months. Our 2022 and 2023 calendars are now open. Here is more on Retreat #3: - Sleeps 14 including 1 king, 4 queens, 2 twins in via a trundle and 2 cots. We may add or change slightly. Max of 12 adults. You can have a party of 38 people if you rent the other two homes next door Retreat #1 and #2). - 5 bedrooms/lofts, 2 full baths, large family/kitchen/great room with big window views - Large covered deck with awesome views of the lake. Mature tree shading and nice lake breeze. View of lake, marina, mountains and wildlife from Deck. Gas BBQ. and Gas firepit. - RV/Boat Parking (no RV Campers/Trailers) - Quiet family vacation neighborhood - Boat launch is very short drive (less than 1/2 mile) - Although water does drop like any reservoir, you can always see the lake and marina from the deck and most rooms of the houses (no houses in front as we are on the shoreline). - 3 HD flat screen TVs with DirecTV - Fast Internet wifi (2M up, 10M down) - Washer/Dryer - Location offers summer temperatures on the deck and around the cabin that are about 10-15 degree less than just up the hill at one of the other rentals because of mature trees/shade and proximity to lake. This is a BIG plus for Shasta in the Summer! - Central air conditioner, ceiling fans, and extra fans. - Watch deer and other wildlife every day as you sit on the deck enjoying your coffee in the morning or your drink of choice in the evening. - Good Path/Trail including steps to edge of Lake and marina - There are also endless back country roads for ATVs and hunters. Some of the best in California. - ADDITIONAL PHOTOS (over 200) can be found on our web site. Do a search for "Shasta Lakeshore Retreat" Notes: this is a wonderful place but there are a couple things we want to make sure our guests understand: 1. The house has a trail to the water's edge and marina but the elderly should avoid and children should not be left alone. 2. There is wildlife so please be aware for children and pets. 3. Although Lake Shasta is the best lake for watersports, swimming, fishing and general boating in California, it is a reservoir like many lakes in California. The water is let out all year long into the Sacramento river which supplies water to many parts of the state. This pushes our distance from the lake house to the water out as the level drops. For 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 the lake filled to top....in 2020 it was 30' from the top and 2021 is down significantly. Go to our web site and check the "Shasta Lake Water Level" page for latest. 4. The lower water levels might make the boat ramp several hundred yards further. and will make the walk to the marina a little longer or require you to drive. Even in 2015 and 2021 when the lake was the lowest, It still took us 30-45mins minutes to drive our boat at speed from one end to the other.....There was plenty of famous Shasta GREAT water. Although rare, if the water level drops to 140' or more it starts to impact the availability of the local boat ramps and marina. This requires a drive to another part of the lake. We have never seen a situation where there is no access to the lake and all marinas close. PLEASE SEE OUR LAKE LEVEL UPDATE on our web site for latest info. 5. The decks are high off the ground. Although they have railings as you would expect, if you have children, you need to watch them all the time outside as a fall from the deck would be a serious or life threatening fall. 6 If you have elderly staying with you, we do recommend having them stay on the main floor which has 3 bedrooms. 7. Forest fires are common in mid summer and the fall in Northern California. Sometimes as early at June. Obviously we have no way of controlling so please assume that smoke from a fire might impact your stay. It depends on the wind direction. Smoke can blow in from a fire 100 miles away and yet not impact the lake if only 5 miles away. All depends on wind direction. Please do not book our homes or another places in the Shasta area if you are sensitive to smoke. 8. NO SMOKING! NO WOOD FIRES OUTSIDE! 9. Not a good place for a big party but great for family and friends on peaceful street. 10. We are strict about the max number of guests, number of cars and pet policy. See web site. Search for "shasta lakeshore retreat" *IMPORTANT: Distance to water from house varies from 50 feet (when full) to several hundred yards (when low) depending on lake level. Views from house and access to lake, marina, and boat ramps will vary depending on lake level. Check Lake Level on Web Site for info and photos or Contact us for latest status. Summer 2021 Lake Level was lower than recent years. Although most of our guests still have a great time at any water level, we want to make sure you understand the dynamics of this reservoir. The lake may or may not fill up any given year but we will keep guests posted as we always do and offer a full refund up to 60 days before arrival. Although rare, if the lake drops below 140' down, this starts to impact the availability of local boat ramp and marina requiring travel to another part of the lake. Again, see our web site for latest info and photos of lake at different levels. Forest Fires are also common in Northern California which may blow smoke in the area during the Summer/fall. Sensitive parties should avoid visiting Northern California during this period of time. Check our web site for current conditions and warnings.
