Echo Lake Lodges - Life on the Lake

Echo Lake Lodge is a fully furnished, 7 room, wood frame home which includes 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Its large open living/dining area looks out onto the lake, and has a sitting area in the loft. There is a fully furnished kitchen and a grill on the porch for your use. The house includes a large deck overlooking beautiful Echo Lake, also known as Puffers Pond which is known for its rocky shores, scenery, deep cool water, and excellent fishing. There are over 19 acres of maintained hiking trails which meander throughout the property. We also offer 1700 of water frontage to explore. During the day, the property abounds with wildlife; rabbits, deer, turkey, and even the occasional bear. The large, open areas, complete with fire pits, benches, and views have all the makings of the perfect spot to relax at the end of your day. In the evening, you will hear the ghostly echos of the loons on the lake while getting lost in the stars above. Meteor showers, shooting stars, and even the northern lights over the water are a common sight. Truly a nature lovers retreat! During the summer, you are welcome to go fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tenting, making s mores, or even just take a nice invigorating plunge in the calm, refreshing waters. As the weather gets more brisk and chilly, and the snow starts to fall, you don t have to be limited to the house! Make lifelong memories snowshoeing, ice fishing, cross country skiing, or just make snowmen or have a snowball fight! Year round, you can enjoy the pleasures of astronomy, or birdwatching. If you want to venture out, we are only 34 miles from Bangor (home of the famous Stephen King), 47 miles from Squaw Mountain and 67 miles from Ellsworth. With near by attractions like schooner cruises, whale watching and fishing trips, white water rafting, golf, and scenic or chartered flights over the region that can be arranged to pick you up and drop you off from the convenience of your own dock, you will find activities to please every member of the family with a warm and inviting home to return to.
