This is the place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, put your feet up, relax and reconnect with family, friends and nature. This is just North of Jackson, Michigan. It is a renovated, fully equipped and completely furnished year round cottage. It is a 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom country cottage located on our family farm with a private 10 acre lake just a short, leisurely, walk away. For those with difficulty walking, we do rent a golf cart to get back and forth to the lake. Malay Lake is surrounded by trees and is a tranquil nature lover’s lake with a lakeside campfire pit. Malay Lake is a natural lake and It doesn’t have a sandy beach or a firm lake bottom. It does have a grass beach (see photos) where you can enjoy the view or watch the kids swimming from the swim platform, fishing or you can roast marshmallows and hot dogs in the lakeside fire pit while you relax in the Adirondack chairs. We drive the pontoon to the middle of the lake and swim off from the diving platform anchored there. There is a complementary row boat , a small bass boat, a canoe and a basic pontoon to explore the lake. It’s a 10 minute short walk from the cottage or if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle or a pick up truck, you can drive down the farm lane. We also have a golf cart you can rent. Please note. There’s no paddle boat as shown in the video. For a larger lake experience: Pleasant Lake public county park is 2 miles away where there is a public swimming beach. Bedroom #1- king conversion with attached bathroom (the king conversion is the twins together with a thick foam pad bridge between the beds to create a single surface) sleeps two Bedroom #2-queen sized bed sleeps two Bedroom #3-bunk beds with a full sized lower bed and another single bed sleeps 4. Please note, the bunk beds do NOT have a trundle as shown in the video. Bathroom #1- attached to the master bedroom and hallway close to the other bedrooms has a tub and shower Bathroom #2-has a shower, vanity and a washer and dryer The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher and microwave. The table seats 8 with lots of extra seating. All of the cooking utensils you will need. The large living room has a huge sectional and a widescreen smart Roku TV with Antenna TV and Netflix and Hulu. There are 2 small tables with chairs for games, private conversations or extra eating space. A designated work station with multiple chargers is in the living room. Morningstar Farm Cottage is in a beautiful setting for hikes, fishing, swimming. Our guests enjoy sitting on the deck in the fresh air watching sunsets and farm animals quietly grazing. Rowboat, basic raft, canoe and small bass boat are included! A swimming platform is anchored in the middle of the lake for swimming fun. The cottage is less than 30 minutes from Michigan State University, The University of Michigan, Michigan International Speedway, 5 - 27 hole golf courses, the Waterloo Recreation Area and the Waterloo Hunt Club. We have a commercial heating and air conditioning system. There are natural stone retaining walls and a beautiful patio for outside enjoyment. Morningstar Farm Cottage is a great place for small family reunions (with prior approval), girl's weekends, and corporate leasing. No need to send your out of town guests to a hotel, have them stay with us and enjoy privacy and quiet surroundings. Plenty of room for an extra tent and an electrical RV hook up for an additional charge.
