Just one hour from New York City, and close to Greenwich beaches and shops, this is a very charming country house that is perfect for families. It is located in the country area of North Stamford, right on the border of Greenwich. It was built in 1869 (there is a hitching post out front), and then was updated with a sunroom with woodburning stove, large playroom stocked with toys, and a master suite and bath. It has 3,880 square feet. There are 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, 2 with tubs. CHECK IN TIME: 4 PM CHECK OUT TIME: 10 AM There is a large backyard. At the far end of the yard is a pond and stone patio. In the spring and summer there are frogs in the pond, and the occasional turtle. The playroom is large, sunny, and stocked with toys that kids are welcome to play with. Our outdoor swingset / playset accommodates small children - best for children 10 and under. Please no adult use. Thanks. We leave a binder in the house that is full of detailed info about the house, wireless access, garbage pickup, the area, shopping, activities, restaurants, recreation, etc. We are very easy to contact via text or phone with any questions at all you have during your stay -- no matter how small. Thanks! The neighborhood is bucolic and rural. There's a horse farm nearby, down a winding road. The forested Mianus River Park, with its lovely hiking trails that run alongside the river, is a 3-minute drive from the house, great for jogging, hiking, mountain-biking or walking the dogs (or kids!). The house has easy access to the Merritt parkway (Route 15) so getting into NYC or to nearby Greenwich, CT is easy. Shopping on trendy Greenwich Ave. (Saks, Tiffany, J. Crew, etc.) is 15-20 minutes away. Stamford train station is about 15-20 minutes from the house, and has many trains running into New York's Grand Central station, a 1-hour train ride away. Please do NOT put anything other than toilet paper in toilets - no feminine products or baby wipes, etc. or there may be plumbing problems. Thank you. Please note that beyond 4 people, we charge an additional fee of $5 per guest, per night. The house has central air and heat. We have a "MODERATE" CANCELLATION POLICY: Travelers who cancel at least 30 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid. If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they'll get back 50%. Otherwise, they won't get a refund. (I will try my best to refund you in full or part if I am able to rent out the dates that you originally booked to a another party.) Thanks!
