"Into the Woods"

For those whose tastes hanker for a real mountain experience away from the bustle of even our little mountain communities (but be a five minute drive from the heart of Crestline), a place where your nearest neighbor is our of sight (but within shoutin' distance for those who want to visit with neighbors), and a home that is an old (1930's) cabin (but with just enough stylish updates to provide the kind of convenience that makes our lives so much easier than those who came before), this is the place for you! With only four other residents living past this house, the road experiences only a rare passing car. Explore the many old rocked terraces in the yard surrounding the house where you can sit and enjoy the completely quiet morning with a cup of coffee or tea. Barbeque and picnic in the fenced level just outside the kitchen. Or avail yourself of the many chaise lounges or chairs set out around the property. Hike through the National Forest that is just feet beyond the property. Moving indoors, warm yourself by the original, huge rock fireplace on a cool autumn night or a snowy winters day. Cook a family meal in the newly renovated kitchen that offers Ikea-style self-closing drawers and cabinetry, a farm sink, and a pantry stocked with all the plates you could ever need to set a stylish, inviting dinner table. A coffee corner provides all the equipment you might want to prepare your morning's coffee while the cabinets and drawers house a full array of cooking and serving utensils. Enjoy the new floors and area rugs throughout that provide a clean, sanitary surface for your family. Wake to a view of the surrounding forest in one of the three bedrooms, all of which have large windows to take advantage of the view. In addition, the master bedroom has a sliding door, providing access to a large deck from which to view the sunset through the trees. Although there is no cable, there is Racu television that streams many broadcast shows as well as numerous viewing and gaming channels. Also, the house is stocked with a huge collection of VHS tapes and DVDs that can be enjoyed on the flat screen TV in the living room or on the televisions provided in two of the bedrooms. There are also many books around the home to enjoy. Three bathrooms are available for your use: one with a shower in the master bedroom; a second bathroom in the downstairs "kids" bedroom, also with a shower; and a third off the living room complete with a tub and shower. The combination of old and new throughout the house and yard, along with the stylish art and décor inside make vacationing in this home a truly unique experience.
