Easy to get to major sites in the Twin Cities! A mid-century modern gem in the lovely Tangletown/Macalester-Groveland neighborhood of St. Paul -- minutes from both St. Paul & Minneapolis downtowns, MSP airport, Mall of America, major Twin Cities sports venues, great dining & shopping, and seven local colleges! This is a guest house , meaning it is free of possessions - only yours; the closets & dressers are empty & awaiting your visit. Built in 1960, the house boasts mid-century charm with mod period furnishings, unique touches, and original artwork. It is also fully updated with all new plumbing fixtures and luxury touches - thick sheets, all new mattresses/pillows, and wool & silk oriental rugs. Enjoy the powerful sound system, large-screen tv, and wifi. It's a visit to 1968, except with modern conveniences! The bright, beautiful kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare great meals. Plenty of counter space (with bar stools & breakfast bar) for prep or kitchen dining. Full wine and barware. Comfortable dining room seats six. Large living room with modern couch, vintage chairs & tables, new large-screen TV, DVD player, Roku, Sling TV, stereo, vintage books and magazines. The Northwest bedroom has vintage dresser and night stands, with a queen bed. The Northeast bedroom has vintage dressers, with a queen bed. The Southwest bedroom has vintage tables, dresser, and cabinet, with a full bed. The Southeast bedroom has a twin bed, and is comfortable for adult or child, with a large vintage dresser. All rooms have original art and vintage prints. A wood-paneled office/den is off the living room. Amherst Street is curved, tree lined, and made for walking & biking. Shopping, dining, & sightseeing are within walking distance, and there is ample, easy parking in front of the house. New laundry facilities and air hockey table in basement. Safety Features include fire extinguisher on each floor, emergency escape signage, fire and carbon monoxide detectors on each floor.
