Watch wildlife from the private rear deck or walk the 2.6 acres of grounds. Adjacent to greenspace/parkland. Rated #1 in town, tied for #1 in the county! Front covered porch and back deck allow interaction with the outdoors. Deer can be seen just outside the property fence and many different birds live on the property: hawks can be seen and owls heard. The cottage is cozy, perfect for two. There is a living area, bedroom, bathroom with shower and a table for two in the kitchen area. The laundry room is downstairs in the basement, accessible from outside steps or stairs. No stairs needed to access the living space. Two and six tenth acre grounds are open to guests. Stroll through wooded area, fruit and vegetable gardens or landscaped areas. Five landscaped meditation or reading spots with benches throughout, one of them very close to the cottage. Firepit. Ample parking near cottage. We respect your privacy but we reside on the property. and are available to help as needed. We provide a guidebook in binder form. It not only has information about the cottage and its appliances, but also offers suggestions for local stores and attractions. We answer messages promptly. A very quiet residential neighborhood borders the property on one side with a creek and farm road recently acquired for the public greenway and park adjoining the rest. In fact, the cottage is closer to the park land than to the main house. The cottage is not visible from the street and barely visible from the main residence. The main house and cottage are within 2.6 gated acres. Despite the privacy, we are quite close to shopping and restaurants in downtown Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro. It is an easy walk to the urban trail system that in part follows the river. We are also walking distance to the municipal park and to downtown Wilkesboro. Easy parking next to the cottage. We try to make guests feel welcome but also allow them an opportunity to "get away from it all" during their stay in this private cottage. Cottage is on same property as main house, so we are close by to help if needed. Property is gated but gate is not locked. No pet fee. Extra charge for more than 2 guests.
