This cottage is one-of-a-kind. It's lovely, large, quiet and in an incredible location, central to everything. A perfect base for exploring the Bay Area! San Francisco is 30 min to the south, wine country is 45 min to the north, and all of Marin surrounds you. The cottage is 20 minutes from Golden Gate Bridge, 5 minutes from highway 101 and easy walking distance to brunch or dinner in sweet downtown Kentfield. But here's the kicker: it feels totally removed, a secret oasis. It's on a 2-acre gated property covered with woodlands, redwood groves and gardens, and feels totally private. It's a wonderful place to come home to after a busy day. The cottage is sweet, spacious and serene. It is partly renovated with lovely wood-look floors and carpeting, high quality furniture, and fresh paint throughout. The living room has a Restoration Hardware queen sleeper sofa - very comfortable for sitting and sleeping. The dining area seats 4. The large flat screen TV comes with a premium cable package. Off the living room is a large redwood deck with Weber grill, very private and lovely. You'll see deer on the lawn outside the front door and hummingbirds off the deck almost every day. A new heating/ AC system will keep you comfortable in any season - though Marin is so mild that you'll mostly just throw the deck doors open and enjoy the fresh air! The kitchen is older and needs renovating, but is clean and functional. It is simply equipped with all the basics: dishwasher, new fridge, microwave, toaster, pantry essentials. The bedroom boasts a beautiful new queen-sized solid acacia bed with premium Sealy Posturepedic mattress and high-quality linens. It has large windows and lovely light. The bathroom is also older and needs renovating, but is again clean and functional. It has a small shower (no bath). The unit also has a separate laundry room with an older washer/ dryer set. Generally, this cottage is simple, updated in some areas (flooring, paint, furniture), a little dated and worn in others (kitchen, bathroom, laundry room), but clean and comfortable and in an incredible location. All of this is reflected in the price, which will rise considerably when full renovation is complete. The owners live on the property, in the main house, and are usually available to help with anything you need. PLEASE NOTE: This unit is down a set of outdoor steps. The steps are newly redone and very nice, but those with mobility issues should consider this when deciding whether to book. Also: Your assigned parking space is on the tight side. It will fit standard-sized cars but not large or oversized vehicles, so please don’t bring them.
