Named a State Historic Landmark, the Belle Baldwin house may be the only known intact example of the residential work of Harlan Thomas, a renowned architect whose buildings are distinguished Seattle landmarks. Vashon Park District’s ‘green’ restoration process has returned the house to its 1912 glory, creating a relaxing, natural environment that honors the park and the past. Located on 750 feet of pristine Puget Sound beach, it doesn't get any better than this. The house is located in Vashon Park District’s Fern Cove Park. The park is open to the public during the day for walk-in, passive uses, such as beach walks and bird watching. The home was fully refurbished in 2008 to provide weekly rentals to the public. It features a large living - dining room with the original paned windows facing the shore and Baldwin creek. The three bedrooms (two queens/two twin), one bath house is comfortable for a group of six (there is also a roll-a-way available) and we provide all household items to assure a comfortable stay. There is a gas fireplace and nap friendly leather couch.
