A wildlife paradise on the Hat Rapids flowage of the Wisconsin River set on 2.5 acres of secluded wilderness on its own cove with a west view across 200 yards of slow-moving water to a wooded hillside. To the north is 5 miles of a wide river, perfect for exploring via canoe, kayaks, or hiking. This tranquil area teems with bald eagles, river otters, beavers, turtles, loons, deer, and wild turkey. Spectacular fall colors can be seen from the screened-in porch and the back deck. Starry nights can be experienced from the all-season firepit, the dock, or by setting up the Bluetooth-enabled telescope on the deck. ATV and bike trails intersect the entrance of our private road. The fall colors are in full view across the river for weeks during autumn. Visiting the local farmer's market, evening leisure boat rides on the Wisconsin River, and antiquing around town are favorite fall pastimes. Hiking and biking are popular from spring through autumn. Camp 10 Ski Resort with downhill, cross country, and snowshoeing areas is mere minutes away. After you come back from your winter sports, relax and warm up in front of the fireplace. Our kitchen is fully stocked for your cooking and baking needs. A large ice maker, a slow cooker, and a 6-quart InstaPot are extras kitchen helpers that will assist you in providing cold beverages and hot meals for your family in less time. The Cabela smoker and two propane grills extend your culinary options. The Great Room grants views to the great outdoors whether you lounge in a comfy chair or enjoy a meal at the 9-foot, square, barn-wood dining table. Retreat to the screened-in porch to play games, or relax on the wicker furniture to read a book or e-reader with house-wide wifi. Fish off the private dock or in a boat with one child and one adult fishing rod provided and plenty of lifejackets. Four kayaks, two paddleboats, and a canoe are available for exploring up and down the river flowage. The locals who fish at the dam downstream boast of walleye and muskie. Our home has passed the local Health Department inspection and is registered with the local county municipality as a tourist rooming house which means we are one of the few hotel-grade approved rentals in the Rhinelander area.
