The Green Cape Cottage at Claytor Lake is a waterfront cottage that recently completed an extensive renovation. Nearly every single thing in the home was replaced or rebuilt and we think you'll enjoy the beautiful views and accommodations that balance cozy with a touch of sophistication. Great for small families, couples, romantic getaways, it's a special place to relax and unwind with fishing, swimming, or enjoying the views. The space: PLEASE READ ** NOTE: Coronavirus safety information ** In an effort to provide safety and peace of mind for our guests (and for me too!), the following safety protocols are being put in place for 2020 rentals until further notice. I hope the following provides fair and reasonable steps for those with cabin fever who want to getaway to the tranquility of lake life to rest and rejuvenate. 1. According to the CDC, the Coronavirus lives on surfaces for up to 3 days. As a result, with each booking, I will block off and keep vacant the 1-3 days BEFORE a guest's arrival (for your safety) and the 1-3 days AFTER a guest's departure (for my safety). Please check to ensure there is time before and after your booking window to accommodate this. 2. As an additional precaution, I will not be providing blankets and comforters. I will provide sheets, pillow cases, and towels. Guests will need to bring their own blankets and comforters. 3. Lastly, I'm asking all guests to do a little bit more than typical cleaning upon their departure. I will provide household cleaners and paper towels and trash bags. Specifically, please spray down and wipe all surfaces and ensure no food, food waste, crumbs, sugar, etc., remain after your departure as I will not enter the property for a thorough cleaning for at least 1 day after your departure. If you have any questions, please contact me through the message link. ** NEW FOR 2021**. NEW COBBLESTONE PATIO AND WALKWAY WITH STEPS UP TO COTTAGE, NEW 2-PERSON KAYAK, NEW GAS GRILL. The cottage has a 5 person, 65-jet hot tub ! The home features new furniture in 2018, stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, tile bathroom floors, custom tile shower, 50" tv with satellite, private patio, multiple decks on both levels, and all the essentials. The master bedroom features a luxurious king-size bed and private upper deck with stunning views. The second bedroom features two beds, a queen and a twin, and private deck above the rear patio courtyard. The bedrooms share a beautiful bathroom with custom glass-enclosed tile shower, toilet and vanity. The cottage has newly installed WiFi with excellent connection and speed for working remotely. The back patio is private with a courtyard feel and features and outdoor wrought iron table and four chairs. The front main, level deck is the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee on a new table with 4 chairs and or watch a few passing boats. About 40 minutes to Virginia Tech and Radford University. There is great swimming and fishing off the dock. The water at the end of the dock is about 5-7 feet deep and has a ladder for easy access in and out of the water. There is a sand bar about 40-50ft out from the dock that prevents boats from the main channel from coming near the dock. There is an abundance of wildlife including deer, bald eagles, osprey, beavers, fox, herons, etc... NOTE: This is a non-smoker property. The owner is highly allergic. No smoking both inside and out. If you smoke, please do not book this property. Thanks. Guest access: The home is private and quiet. A digital keypad offers access to the door key (right front door). WiFi is available and cell service is available by Verizon and US Cellular and other national carriers. Linens and towels and bathroom essentials are provided. Other things to note: The driveway is private and recently paved. Please do not drive off the edge of the driveway as the shoulder is low and it will crack and damage the asphalt. Do not park in the grass.
