As you wind down the tree lined road and see the river you will leave the worries of work and city life behind you and enter a place where time slows but adventure awaits around every bend. The welcoming front porch greets you with a swing and rockers for relaxing and even a table for two, great for breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. You can watch the canoers go by and wave to them or join in the fun…easy river access is just steps away from the cabin. Upon entering the home you find an authentic log cabin with modern conveniences. The open living area features hardwood floors, a stone fireplace with gas logs and a bright dine-in kitchen with seating for four. The living area offers a comfy leather sofa and chair for curling up and watch a movie on the Smart TV or browsing on the high speed WiFi for fun things to do while you are here. Turn up the fireplace logs and relax on those cool Carolina Mountain evenings. The kitchen is well lit and stocked with plenty of pots and pans for cooking a family meal or a quick snack. Bring along your groceries. There’s plenty of room in the cabinets for them. A half bath with laundry area is also on this level with a door nearby leading out to the back covered porch. Climb the stairs to the two bedrooms and full bath. The master offers a comfy queen bed while the second bedroom features both a full and twin size bed. A shared hall bath with tub/shower combination is easily accessible from both bedrooms. Outside, you will find an expansive level yard for kids to play in and an outdoor living space with a fire pit, charcoal grill and plenty of seating. Make sure to bring your fishing poles for fishing in world’s second oldest river – The New River, or bring your canoes, kayaks or tubes and spend the day floating the river. Don’t have your own? No problem! You can rent them from one of the nearby canoe rental companies. Other nearby attractions for more adventures include the New River State Park, Grayson Highland State Park, VA/NC Creeper Trail where you can rent bikes for a scenic ride, and the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. Within an hour or so drive you can visit Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountaini, Linville Caverns, or pan for gold at Mystery Hill. If shoppinig is your forte, be sure and stroll the streets of downtown West Jefferson, Boone and Blowing Rock, and visit the Tanger Outlets to find special and unique items that suit your fancy.
