Eco-friendly water view retreat near Acadia

Enjoy a cozy place to kick back after hiking or sightseeing. Located at the gateway to Mount Desert Island, we are out of the noise and traffic of Bar Harbor while convenient to Acadia National Park and shopping. We are proud to be a green vacation rental. Certified as a National Wildlife Foundation native wildlife habitat and a Monarch Waystation. Our electricity and HVAC are powered by solar panels. We use green cleaners and non-toxic shampoo and conditioner. We are also active in our local Project Drawdown and have committed to reduce our carbon footprint. Wander our brookside trail and the organic pollinator-friendly gardens. Keep an eye out for eagles, great blue herons, ducks, foxes and perhaps even a seal! Enjoy a lobster feast or BBQ on the picnic table with all the accoutrements provided (reusable melamine plates, cups, lobster pot, lobster crackers and picks). Then sit around the firepit, roast marshmallows, and tell tall tales. On a clear night you can see more stars than you can imagine, the milky way, and even shooting stars! The tidal Jordan River is just steps from the back porch, and has a put-in for kayaks and canoes. It is a short paddle from here into Frenchman Bay with gorgeous views of Mount Desert Island. (You can order boats delivered by a local outfit ahead of time and keep them here during your stay.) Our energy efficient heat pump has AC for those hot summer days. In Maine, it usually stays pretty cool in summer, but if you happen to be here during a heat wave, you'll be comfy. This is a no-smoking facility. No smoking is allowed in the house or on the grounds. Pet friendly Please inquire if you would like to bring a pet. You may bring one well-behaved dog. We provide a dog bed and bowls to welcome your furry companion. There is an additional one-time nonrefundable $200 pet fee collected through the platform at the beginning of your stay.
