Come for simple things like silence, clean Atlantic air, star-gazy skies and Scrabble by the fire. Walkers love the wild, craggy beauty of the South West Coast Path around the Hartland Peninsula. Surfers take to the waves at the slightest opportunity. Everyone gathers at Hartland Quay, for sunsets, swimming, and a pint at The Wrecker's. Retreat And there’s plenty to visit too – Gardens, galleries – cream tea rooms of course - steeply cobbled Clovelly, and Lundy Island - a helicopter hop from the Point or a boat trip from Bideford. The Stables is part of what was once a stable block and is now a grand-level cottage with a small outside courtyard seating area.
