Ribble Cottage is a luxury retreat adjoining Hodder Cottage that sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms. Inside, the warm and welcoming open plan layout is furnished with modern comforts including zone-controlled underfloor heating. The two bedrooms – one twin and one double – are each equipped with en-suites – one with a half bath and overhead shower, and the other with a double shower. There is also a sofa bed in the living room to accommodate extra guests. A modern kitchen houses plenty of appliances, including a washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Keen cooks can take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and the extendable dining table that comfortably seats six. A lounge area provides a place for relaxation, while the WiFi and flat screen TV fitted with Freeview, and DVD player will keep guests entertained. All the family can make themselves at home here. Outside, Ribble overlooks Oakdean’s private gardens. Bi-folding doors open onto a peaceful patio with a view of the surrounding woodland. In summer months, the barbecue and outside dining area make this an idyllic spot for sunny afternoons and balmy evenings. This cottage has been awarded 5* for Self Catering Accommodation by Visit England. There’s something for everyone in the surrounding area. From horse riding on heather-clad hillsides, to wild winding climbs, and tempting trails for cyclists of all abilities - both on and off-road. Dean Clough reservoir and the beautiful nearby pine forests are practically on our doorstep. Pendle Hill, Stonyhurst, Marles Wood to Dinckley Bridge, Longridge Fell, Three Rivers, Dunsop Bridge and The Tolkien Trail are a just few of the many walks nearby. For days out by car, The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the seaside are all less than an hour away. We are perfectly situated for guests coming further afield as we’re close to Junction 31 of the M6 with very good transport links. Preston is a 30 min drive away where direct trains go to London (2 hrs), to Glasgow (2 hrs) and to Edinburgh (2 hrs 30 mins). Described as Lancashire and Yorkshire’s hub into and out of the North, Manchester and Leeds are approx 1 hr drive away and both cities have international airports.
