Salt Herrings cottage is a stunning conversion of an old Cooperage set in a spectacular waterfront location, and is ideal for those who wish to spend time by the sea in a beautiful setting. It now also benefits from the new outside sitting area (Sitooterie) which is not attached to the property and is accessed through the courtyard at the rear of the cottage. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor, one twin and one double. The double has a luxury ensuite with slipper bath. There is a separate bathroom with shower opposite the twin bedroom. Both bedrooms have sea views. A staircase leads up to the stunning open plan kitchen/dining and living area. The solid oak kitchen is fully equipped and has an integrated fridge, built in oven and ceramic hob. The living area has a wood burning stove. There are seven south facing windows from which to enjoy the ever changing and forever memorable sea views across the Firth of Forth to Berwick Law, Isle of May and along the coast to Crail. Truly wonderful! Salt Herrings is situated in one of a number of small fishing villages in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife. This cottage, totally renovated to the highest standards and tastefully decorated throughout is an ideal base to explore this wonderful part of Scotland. This is a fantastic location for a holiday, with award-winning sandy beaches, world class golf courses, full range of water sports, beautiful coastal walks and many other holiday activities close by. There are numerous pubs and eating places in the area, ranging from the famous "Anstruther Chippie" to award winning seafood restaurants. The historic town of St Andrews is only 15 minutes away. This part of Fife is also ideal for exploring further afield. It is only an hours drive to Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth. The area is rich in historical interest with several National Trust properties in the vicinity including Falkland Palace, Kellie castle and the Hill of Tarvit.
