Cosquer Cottage is a traditional Breton stone and thatched dwelling set in the heart of the picturesque village of Saint Nicolas des Eaux. As far as we know the cottage was built in the 15th Centuary, it sits directly opposite the 12 Centuary church. The village is in Morbihan, the southern most department of Brittany nestled in the Blavet valley an area renowned for its outstanding natural beauty. The property has been sympathetically styled to keep as many of its original features as possible whilst offering guests all modern conveniences. It has old wooden beams , thick stone walls and large feature fireplaces. The property is thoroughly cleaned between visits to ensure that guests are as safe as possible from any cross contamination. The accommodation comprises of an open planned kitchen/ dining area, cosy lounge and bathroom on the ground floor with two sleeping areas and a toilet with wash hand basin on the first floor. There are two single beds in the first room and a double bed, with the option of a further two Zbeds (if requested) the the second room. In the master bedroom there are also two recliner seats and a coffee table. A travel cot is available for infants. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven and hob. The dining table can comfortably seat 6 and a high chair and/or booster seat are for the use of younger guests. In the colder months heating is via the large wood burner. The property has WiFi access and benefits from a fully enclosed sunny garden. The canal is about 200 metres away, along its banks can be found the local bar, restaurant, a creperie and tourist office. For those interested in outdoor pursuits, there are bikes, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, pedalos and electric boats for hire at reasonable rates. Fishing permits can be purchased from the village and there is a golf course a short drive away. The nearest supermarket is a 5 minute drive to Plumeliau, where you can also find additional bars, restaurants, a Boulangerie, pharmacy and post office. There are plenty of things to see and do all within easy travelling distance from the cottage. La Trinite sur Mer with its beautiful marina, the medieval towns of Auray, Josselin and Vannes, Lac du Guerledan, Brittany’s largest lake where you can find additional water sports and lakeside beaches. Baud and Pontivy, both about 15 minutes drive have swimming pools, more shops and places to eat.
