La Badia di Leopoldo,Villa with garden in Florence
La Badia di Leopoldo, amazing 19century villa with garden in Florence
This amazing nineteenth-century villa with exclusive garden, is located in a quiet residential district of Florence, a few kilometers from the center, and it is the ideal place to relax, away from the chaos of the city, after a day spent visiting the beauties of the city. The villa was built at the beginning of the 19th century, probably as a farm. In the years of Florence Capital (1865-1871) it was modernized according to the taste of the time and used as a country villa, also equipped with its own chapel, built in the spaces behind the current garage. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the entire complex was purchased by the lawyer Coselschi - friend and secretary of D Annunzio during the Fiume enterprise - who made it his "cottage" in Tuscany; the initials of his surname are still visible on the top of the gate. The current owners bought the upper part of the building, which was divided into three parts, in the early 50s. Recently the façade of the villa has been restored, bringing to light and enhancing the original decorations. The location of the apartment is ideal for those who want to reach Florence by car and seek tranquility and relax, just a few minutes from the main museums and monuments of Florence. Not far from the exit of the A1, from here it is also easy to reach the main routes to visit Tuscany; the nearby Vallombrosa, the Chianti with its delightful villages such as Greve, Impruneta and Gaiole, Siena and its territory, or the splendid San Gimignano and Volterra. La Badia, that can sleep up to 8 persons, is ideal for couples looking for a romantic nest, or for families with children, who can have fun outdoors in complete safety, as well as for those who love biking. Recently renovated, the villa has been tastefully decorated, with a careful restoration of the original furniture, and maintaining the characteristics of the ancient Florentine country villas, such as terracotta floors and frescoes on the ceilings. Neverthless it has been equipped with every modern comfort that will let you enjoy your wonderful holiday. Two large terraces overlook the property s garden and enjoy a magnificent view over the nearby countryside and the mountains of Vallombrosa The apartment is on the first floor, accessible with 18 steps, has two large terraces, exclusive garden and two parking spaces. The apartment entrance leads to the large kitchen, furnished with original restored furniture and equipped with all necessary accessories (dishwasher, oven, freezer, toaster,) to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner whenever you want. The long wooden table in the center of the kitchen has 8 seats. From the kitchen you can reach the corridor that, on the right, leads to the large living room, furnished with sideboard, TV, and two comfortable sofas, one of which is easily transformed into a double sofa bed. An ancient ceramic stove is beautifully displayed in a corner. The living overlooks one of the terraces. A door on the left opens onto the large white and green bathroom, with a walk-in shower. La Badia offers three large bedrooms, two with double beds, and one with twin beds. Tastefully urnished, each room has a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, bedside tables and one overlooks the second large terraces. A passage room has been furnished with a round gaming table, showcase, writing desk and two beautiful rocking chairs that recall past times. Here the beautiful ceiling frescoes have been kept.
