In the years of Florence Capital (1865-1871) it was modernized according to the taste of the time and used as a country villa, also equipped with its own chapel, built in the spaces behind the current garage. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the entire complex was purchased by the lawyer Coselschi - friend and secretary of D Annunzio during the Fiume enterprise - who made it his "cottage" in Tuscany; the initials of his surname are still visible on the top of the gate. The current owners bought the upper part of the building, which was divided into three parts, in the early 50s. Recently the façade of the villa has been restored, bringing to light and enhancing the original decorations.
