Treetops - romantic studio apartment/treehouse
Studio & balcony with tree growing through it, spiral staircase, stunning views.
You’ll love my place because of the wonderful views across open countryside, the spiral staircase and the tree growing through the balcony. It's as close as you can get to a treehouse with all the comforts of home. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Gorgeously romantic detached annex with stunning views across an area of outstanding natural beauty. Generously proportioned studio room with French doors to large private balcony with large tree growing through it. Spiral staircase to downstairs kitchenette and shower room. Access to beautiful shared garden with BBQ, firepit and hot tub which backs onto open fields. Sleeps 2 very comfortably. Adults only. Self catering. In the event of changes in Covid restrictions affecting future bookings guests will be able to postpone their visits, however in all other circumstances our normal cancellation policy applies. It's on a tiny little lane with trees meeting over the road in places. There are lots of public footpaths including one that goes through next door's land and down through fields to the woods. Sometimes we have sheep in the field behind - at the moment we have cows with calves in the field beyond that. Treetops is an ideal retreat or lovenest - it's wonderful space for getting away from it all and right into the countryside; to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature; to heal, write, create music or art or to study. It’s the perfect place to wind down and de-stress. It's very much a cosy country property rather than a stylish hotel setting but it's nicely and very comfortably furnished in rustic style. Horses clop along the lane outside and birdsong fills the air. There is a farmer along the lane who has equipment in use and large vehicles during the week sometimes so it's more reliably peaceful at weekends. The owner is an artist, music teacher and Reiki practitioner who lives in the main house with one child. Treetops has undergone major renovations recently, including a new balcony made of local Sussex oak by local craftsmen in the traditional Sussex style. The bathroom now has a new white suite with much bigger shower and a heated towel rail. Upstairs it has new carpet, curtains, rug, cushions, TV, mattress, pillows, linen, blinds, a power socket with USB points, a little dressing table with a mirror and hairdryer and a more romantic light above the bed. The kitchen has new quarry tiles on the floor, new worktops, sink, an integrated oven and glass hob and there's a washing machine and a dishwasher, which will hopefully make guests feel properly off-duty and relaxed! Outside Treetops there's a large, shared area of garden which backs onto the fields. During the latest lockdown we extended the communal patio area to make social distancing easier. It has 2 charcoal BBQs and a firepit which you can also cook on and pots of fresh herbs which you are welcome to use. Beyond the patio is laid to turf, and at the very bottom of the garden, two new Shepherd Huts (Meadowsweet and Heartsease) have been built for couples. To the left of Treetops, on a deck in the middle of the garden is the hot tub. It really is bliss! Behind that is the main house and owner's lawn and veg plot which is not fenced off for aesthetic reasons but guests are asked not to go beyond the hot tub deck. The hot tub is available between 9am and midnight. Please be aware that it is shared, very public and for therapeutic use only. Guests can book private half hour sessions and must use the sanitization provided. There is a small charge for each use - £5 April - September or £10 October - March. Guests must be happy with committing to 2m distancing and participating in our new hygiene regime by using the products provided. On top of our enhanced cleaning protocol we are also running an ozone generator (which kills everything including viruses) between stays. Because of the considerable extra costs of doing the extra cleaning and sanitizing, shorter stays are more expensive. Because of the time it takes to prepare, unfortunately it's no longer possible to offer early check-ins or late check-outs. Although smoking is not allowed inside, it is permitted on the balcony.
