Only two miles from beautiful Haslemere yet nestled in the heart of South Downs, Les Charmettes is the perfect getaway for all the family. Only ten minutes from Black Down; the highest point in South Downs National Park you have walks into the most fantastic countryside quite literally on your doorstep. The beauty of this location is that you are away from it all yet have excellent travel links only moments away. Haslemere station has a line running direct to London Central with a travel time of 49 minutes as well as direct line to Guildford getting you there in only 15 minutes. Excellent Sussex & Surrey pubs are within an easy taxi distance. 'The White Horse' is particularly good. A little to the East towards Petworth 'Noah's Ark Inn' is another local favourite with excellent food and service. Make sure to book if you are going on a weekend evening! For those attended Goodwood Festival of Speed or Revival this couldn't be a more perfect base. You are only 30 minutes from the events and travelling via the north side of Sussex offers a less traffic filled journey getting you there smoothly across the Downs and cutting in-between West Dean & Charlton. On arrival you quite literally look up to the wonderful chalet like building through green vegetation and trees. Following a winding wooden stairway up to the front door you feel as if you have stepped into another world leaving the hustle and bustle of day to day far behind you. Les Charmettes has a fantastically quirky garden going uphill to the fields beyond. As you make your way up to the top you find patches of secret garden, flat decked areas with hammocks, dining tables and chairs and perfect BBQ spots. Les Charmettes is warm and welcoming from the moment you step through the door. The kitchen dining area is the heart of the building making the perfect spot to entertain and convene with all the family over a home cooked meal or local takeaway ordered in. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to effectively self-cater during your stay. A separate utility area with washer and dryer can be found by the front door. There is one high chair at the property for a little one as well toddler toilet accessories along with lots of toys and books! The living room with open fire is the ideal spot to unwind and relax. Cosy down with a roaring fire on the chilly evenings or open up the bi-fold doors on a summers day and let country air and bright sunshine in. Stepping out of the living room you find yourself on a gorgeous decked area with plenty of room for dining outdoors. Surrounded by foliage and trees you can enjoy the peace that this holiday home brings. On the first floor Les Charmettes has one ground floor bedroom with shower room next door. This lovely space includes desk and chair for a laptop area as well a single day bed which can be converted into a double upon request. Here is also access to the garden via a French window leading out to a space with bistro table and chairs. On the first floor is large master bedroom with balcony. This room has a full sized cot and sofa bed which can be used for small children. Please note your own linen is required for cot and extra sofa beds. The master bedroom has a large walk through wardrobe leading to a good sized en suite. Further along the book lined landing you will find a double bedroom and twin bedroom. A shower room with WC is also on the first floor. The landing has space to become a play area (stair gates are at the top and bottom of the stairwell) a futon is also here which can be used as a sleeping space should guests not want to share a room.
