Please read it carefully before your arrival and let us know if you need anything or have any questions. ## Neighborhood The apartment is located in the touristic but quiet Porto de Mos area of Lagos, right behind Porto de Mos beach. From the park, there is a direct path leading to the beach and you will have your toes in the sand within 5 minutes. If you prefer a less steep route, you can also go by way of the main road in under 10 minutes. There are some small (food) shops and a great choice of restaurants in the residential area behind. You will also find 2 restaurants directly on the beach. The famous cliffs of Lagos (incl Ponte da Piedade) are literally around the corner of your apartment and can easily be reached by foot. Lagos downtown can be reached by foot but for those who want to avoid the steep hills, it is also very easy to go by car or bus. Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical center full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its breathtaking cliffs and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical center, great food and friendly people. As it is located on the coast you can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area. ## Transit You can reach Lagos in about one hour by car from Faro Airport and car rental is available in the parking lot of the airport. By train it will take about 2,5 to 3 hours. Lagos has a train station (for travel towards Faro, Lisbon and Porto) and a bus station (for buses towards the west-side of the south coast) but do note that buses and trains only go a few times per day. You can easily get around without a car and there are plenty of taxis and Ubers available, but if you really want to explore the area surrounding Lagos, a (rental) car will make your life a whole lot easier.
