Kindly Light Cottage is nestled in the heart of Staithes. Cosy yet modern, the cottage is a perfect base for exploring the village and beyond. The cottage is fully-equipped for your holiday needs and is one of the few properties in Staithes with a private garden for you to relax in and enjoy the sound of the sea only yards from the property. We want you to come, relax and fall in love with Staithes just like we have and are very happy to answer any queries you may have. **Covid-19 update** Cleanliness is always a top priority for us. In addition to our already thorough cleaning schedule, we are ensuring extra sanitisation of high-touch areas of the cottage. We are happy to answer any questions to reassure our guests as we want you to come on your holiday and relax in the knowledge that everything has been done to make the cottage as safe as possible. You will have full exclusive use of the entire property for the duration of your stay, including the garden. On arrival, you will find the cottage fully prepared for your stay including fresh milk in the fridge and a little treat to help you settle in! The traditional cottage is a real mix of old and new. On the ground floor, beamed ceilings and a log burning fire sit alongside a modern and well-equipped kitchen. The entire ground floor is an open-plan lounge/kitchen and you will find everything you need for a self-catering holiday with your family or friends. The log burning stove makes for cosy evenings in, we'll even leave you some logs to get you started. A door leads to the stairs to the first and second floors. This can be closed which is a huge benefit to people travelling with a dog or young children. As the cottage is over 150 years old, the staircase to the upper floors is narrow and rather steep. On the first floor is a tastefully decorated master bedroom with comfortable memory foam mattress on the large double bed. This spacious room is furnished with oak wardrobes, allowing plenty of space for your clothes and belongings. If you need to bring a travel cot, there is ample space in the master bedroom. At the top of the house, there is a twin bedroom, a single 'snug' bedroom and the bathroom. All bedrooms have radiators except the snug which has its own heater. The modern bathroom has a bath and electric shower. Outside, the cottage benefits from its own little garden which is for the exclusive use of our guests. There is an outdoor table and chairs for you to enjoy evenings sitting listening to the sound of the sea only yards away. The entire cottage will be for your exclusive use for the duration of your stay. This includes the garden space opposite the cottage. You are able to unload your car at the cottage when you arrive. Then, you will need to take your car to the car park at the top of the village. We provide a permit included in the rental price for the duration of your stay (please note that the permit does not guarantee availability of a space in the car park and the walk to and from the car park is steep).
