Coach House Barn is a recently renovated self-catering barn conversion situated in the picturesque village of Defford, just a short drive from Pershore, in the heart of Worcestershire. Originally the coach house to Defford House it has a fascinating history, dating back to the 1830’s. Allegedly Queen Victoria’s Aunt Adelaide, the dowager Queen, would visit the house en-route to visit her relatives at Croome Court. Coach House Barn is located within the walled gardens of Defford House through secure electric gates. Outside there is a tranquil and sunny courtyard garden for the sole use of guests and has seating for four people with plenty of space for alfresco dining. Parking is for up to two cars on the drive The Barn conversion has been renovated to a very high standard yet care has been taken to retain the original historic character of the building. It is extremely comfortable and has a wealth of exposed brickwork, oak beams, central heating and conservation double-glazing throughout. The Barn has been tastefully furnished with a combination of modern and antique furniture and there are original art works dotted all through the property. It has two double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms, suitable for a family or two couples sharing the property. Children are very welcome and a cot can be provided on advance booking together with a high chair and stair gates. Lounge/diner: A large open plan living/dining area with dining table and chairs to seat five, two twin leather sofas, armchair, coffee tables, Wi Fi, and TV with DVD player. Accommodation: Kitchen: Fully equipped with electric cooker, hob and hood, stainless sink, kettle, microwave, cooking utensils, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, crockery and cutlery. Hall/galleried staircase: A display case featuring Lisa’s artwork stands at the bottom of the oak timber staircase. A cupboard under the stairs contains tumble drier and ironing facilities. The two-tier staircase ends in a short mezzanine with both bedrooms at either end. Master Bedroom: With exposed beams and brickwork, two skylights, double bed, bedside tables, double wardrobe, dressing table and full length mirror. The bed linen provided is Egyptian cotton with luxury pillows and duvets. Master En Suite: A large and beautifully finished room with separate bath, double shower, WC, hand basin and heated towel rail. Double Bedroom: With twin single beds, exposed beams and skylight. This room leads to steps down to a smaller bedroom. Single Bed Room: With a single bed leading with window and leading to the shower room Shower Room: A shower room with single shower, WC, hand basin, and heated towel rail. Location: Situated in the picturesque village of Defford, just a short drive from Pershore, in the heart of Worcestershire, Coach House Barn is located within the walled garden of one of the village’s Georgian historic buildings. The garden has been designed with attention to detail with box hedging and espalier apple trees. The sunny private courtyard has an abundance of planting ranging from Olive trees to Japanese Acers, suitable for relaxing and alfresco dining. Defford is a village on the edge of Bredon Hill and it’s renowned for its agriculture, specialising in asparagus and fruit. The village boasts the award winning Revill’s farm shop selling local high-quality produce, a garage and two pubs, which have established a reputation for good food. The village is situated off a main road, equidistant to Pershore and Upton-upon-Severn by about three to four miles. Both small towns are very popular with tourists and have a holiday atmosphere, with a range of activities, including a cinema, art gallery, theatre, boat trips and a range of good quality restaurants. The location of Coach House Barn makes for easy access to Bredon Hill and The Malvern Hills for walking and Croome Park is just a couple of miles away. Defford is well situated centrally in the country, and for visitors to the area traveling by car; it is just ten minutes journey time off the M5. It is relatively easy to get to from most areas in the country. There is a train station in Pershore, and Worcester, which are on the main rail network connecting country-wide The rental includes exclusive use of a private courtyard; secure parking for up to two cars, central heating and all utilities. Bed linen and towels are provided. For the comfort of all our customers we do not permit pets in the Barn, and smoking is permitted in the courtyard terrace. The Barn is ready for occupation from 3.00 pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated by 11.00 am on the leaving day. On arrival the Coach House Barn will be spotlessly clean and prepared for your stay
