Caernarfon Castle an imposing UNESCO World Heritage site is under 9 miles distance, where Prince Charles had his investiture, travel just a little further over to Pwllheli or Criccieth for more fabulous beaches, and Porthmadog is home to the Welsh Highland Railway and some lovely independent shops.
