Welcome to our 1980 Jamestowner 54ft houseboat at Anchors Away Marina. This is perfect for those who are looking for a unique, fun and truly unforgettable experience. Boat is docked near cedar point, Put in Bay, Kelleys Island any many other local attractions. Boat has been nicely decorated to make you feel like you are on an island adventure. Rooftop deck allows for breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. Houseboat is fully equipped with everything you need for your stay including kayaks! *** Boat water gets shut off Oct 15th. Any bookings after that will not have faucet water or shower water. Toilet will still work as usual. We have a key card to use marina bathrooms/showers 24/7. Boat has space heaters to keep it warm overnight. We will provide a gallon jug of water for cooking/washing hands.*** This is a true vintage houseboat! It does sit on the water so during your stay you may encounter some bugs, harmless but annoying nonetheless. It does rock and move slightly depending on the weather conditions. The boat is permanently docked, it cannot be taken out or moved. Like all boats with indoor plumbing it is sensitive. Boat house/public bathrooms available in the marina with extra showers if needed. The houseboat is a 1980. Its is not the Hilton. The boat has two AC units and ceiling fans to help keep the boat cool. Multiple fishing poles are provided to our guests along with two kayaks and life vests which are free to use. On the rooftop deck you will have access to lounge chairs and beach chairs. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable as possible. No dogs or animal unless approved by the us first. Stepping aboard The Jamestowner you will be greeted by a spacious porch with outdoor table and seating to fit 6 people comfortable, extra seating along the rails is available. Once you enter through the sliding glass door you will see a living area with 2 sleeper sofas, 32" flat screen TV with DVD player and a nice collection of boat themed movies! Boat has a small dining area and kitchen with new stainless steel appliances. In various drawers and cabinets you will find dishes/cups, utensils, pots, pans, coffee maker (filters and caffeinated coffee available), 2 burner griddle, and kitchen linens. We also provide complimentary bottled water. Extra trash bags are provided under the kitchen sink along with various cleaning supplies located there and under the bathroom sink. *Boat does not have a stove. It has a two burner griddle, small convection oven, toaster oven, blender, pots, dishes, cups and all cooking utensils. It has all the basics. *Marina has multiple wifi networks that can used. We leave password on the counter. The wifi can be spotty. Some days it works perfect other days it doesn't work at all. It is not something we can control. We have Verizon phone service and our cellular service always works great. When the wifi is working you are able to use our Netflix on the TV.* The boat has a full bathroom and a shower stall with caddy for toiletries, we have extra bath linens provided in the cabinet in the back bedroom. There are multiple outlets for styling tools to be used. Hairdryer is provided. Under the bathroom sink you will find a first aid kit and sunscreen. Marine specific toilet paper is provided. Shower works just like any other shower. Has a 30 gallon hot water tank. It is small but does the job. All shower water and sink water drains out into the lake. Toilet water goes into a holding tank that get pumped out once a month. The master bedroom has a cube shelf and closet with hangers to store belongings. The back AC unit gets this room nice and cool so we like to use the fan provided in the back to help direct cool air to the main living area of the boat. Bunk beds are across from the bathroom with a full bed on bottom and a twin bed on top. Additional bedding can be found in the cubes in the back bedroom as well. Outdoor Space: You are welcome to enjoy any of the outdoor space available, however due to the danger of electrical shock there is absolutely NO swimming off the boat. The rooftop deck is perfect for sunbathing, accessible by ladder in the back, 3 full length lounge chairs are provided and already on top for your convenience. There is a large deck box up top with additional beach chairs and towels. Also in the deck box is some fun costumes/shades/hats that you are welcome to use. There is a canvas bimini top. Instructions for bimini top are on the deck box. Two kayaks are on the back deck free to use. You may need to walk them to the end of the dock to launch, although if you are a skilled paddler and have the strength to do so, you can launch right off the side of the boat! Paddles are provided and life jackets must be worn, various sizes available in bedroom closet. You are welcome to fish off the boat, rods provided on the back deck, but no gutting and cleaning permitted onboard. Guests are free to all space on board The Jamestowner. There are two restaurants on the marina property which boast excellent cocktails and vast menus. As the overview noted, you are minutes from many public parks, beaches and other attractions. Fishing charters are available to book just feet away! This is a houseboat. It is not the Hilton. We do our best to keep it clean/safe. No swimming is allowed in the Marina. You are 1/2 a mile from a local sand beach and park. We live roughly 1 hour away. We will always be available by phone or text day or night. We also know the staff at the marina who can assist. For your comfort, we suggest keeping exterior boat lights off after dusk to eliminate the attraction of bugs. We do our best to keep them away but it is not possible to eliminate them all. It is nice and cozy. The space is limited. It is in a marina with other boats. You will hear and see other charter boats as they come and go. It is not a luxury yacht, it is not the Hilton. It is a vintage houseboat. We have a cleaning crew that works very hard to keep it as nice as possible.
